Does A Turn Around Start With The Head Coach?
#1
SOME TEAMS GET BETTER WITH THE SAME COACH, BUT SOME TEAMS ARE TERRIBLE, HIRE A NEW HEAD MAN AND HAVE BIG TIME TURN AROUNDS IMMEDIATLEY.IV'E KNOWN SOME COACHES WHO HAVE WORKED AS HARD AS ANYBODY, DONE THINGS RIGHT, BUT NEVER COULD WIN. 3 YEARS AGO MORGAN CO. HAD THE MOST TALENTED TEAM THE SCHOOLS EVER HAD. THEY WERE ALL SENIORS, LINE AVG. BOUT 280 ACROSS,WON CONFERECE CHAMPIONSHIP IN 8TH GRADE( BEAT MASON IN THE FINALS).THIS WAS THE TEAM TO DO IT FOR MORGAN.WON 3 GAMES THAT YEAR.MORGAN HIRES RANDY WOOD THE NEXT YEAR.IN HIS FIRST SEASON, WITH LESS TALENT, ALL THOSE SENIORS GONE, HE TAKES MORGAN TO THE PLAYOFFS.THEY WIN THEIR FIST EVER PLAYOFF GAME.
THIS YEAR AFTER LOSING STARTING QB AND WING AND SOME GOOD D-LINEMEN, THEY GO BACK TO THE PLAYOFFS AGAIN, FINISHING 8-3.:blabbermo :coach:

idk, i think if they win a few games and get some confidence from inside the school and gain support from the community, more people will come out and make a better team. no matter if they switch coaches or not, just my oppinion.

The right head coach CAN mean the difference.

It depends on the situation.

The right head coach has the ability to get their players to work closer towards their potential than others can. Also, the right head coach may be able to install an offense/defense that bits the personnel that he has a little better than his predessor.

I think Johnson Central showed that a good head coach can unlock the teams real potential

JC is the prime example of this....A coach can make all the difference in the world. He has to have some players, but, w/the right coaching staff, you can be a consistent playoff team with without fantastic players.

Hillbilly, you are exactly right, a coach has to be able to get the most out of his players, and/or put together the perfect scheme.

It's totally dependent on the situation.
