talent or tradition?

WHICH IS MORE LIKELY TO BEAT YOU FIRST? THERE'S ALOT OF TALENTED TEAMS THAT LOSE TO TEAMS WITH LESS TALENT BUT HAVE ALOT OF TRADITION.:confused:

You don't develop a tradition without first having talent. There are times when a team seems to be more talented than a "traditional" powerhouse only to lose the game. This can be attributed to several reasons:
1. Coaching-tradition starts at the top
2. Team mentality-been there done that attitude, teams with tradition expect to win whereas the other team may fall behind and give up hope.
3. Fan support-ask any team in the state, it can be a very big mental advantage when a team comes into your stadium and the crowd that comes with them is as large or larger than the home fans, not to mention when you have to play them on thier own field.

Those are just a few reasons I could think of.

It seems it would be hard for any team to think about tradition all the time. That would be like playing against a ghost lol.

Tradition NEVER dies! 9/10 a team with tradition makes puts them up 14 points in football!

I have seen tradition overcome talent for years.

Kids definetly feel an obligation to play to the "tradition" of their program. There are a lot of "talented" kids who never step foot on the field at the pizza box. The teams with tradition feel like they have something to live up to, therefore, they play a lot closer to their maximum potential--because they feel a sense of obligation--they don't want to be the ones who let the tradition die.
