Late breaking news tonight as former Barbourville girls basketball coach Brandon Hillard contacted me to inform me that he has been hired as the newest head baseball coach of the Knox Central Panthers.
When asked about what he thought about the new position, he said excitedly, "I want the season to start in a month." He also added, "I am honored to fill this position and I am looking forward to working with the student-athletes of the Knox Central Baseball program."
Hillard will head up a Knox Central team which finished with a 19-10 record during the 2010 baseball season.
Hillard was also a standout at Union College. In 2001 he was selected to the Mid South Conference First Team as a pitcher. He also places 8th all time in Union College history for lowest ERA in a season with a 2.73 ERA.

I believe Coach Hilliard will be the man to lead KC to Applebees park in the near future. There is a lot of talent at KC currently and a great crop of talent in the middle school.
