6th Grade Pool Play

The Wildcats lost their first game to the Warhawks (I believe) and their second to Carr Creek. I don't have the scores of those games. They were playing their last pool game when I left.

Your boys played very well coach. I think at about the 12:00 minute mark in the second half it was a three point game and you all went on a 13-0 run to blow the game wide open. You definately have those boys in great shape. Your boys are very well coached and very polite. Your parents should be very proud of what you have done at Dorton. I know we really enjoy playing you guys.

Thanks a lot coach. These boys have worked very hard for the past couple of years. They are a good group of kids to be around. I think the conditioning played a role in the big run as well.

I respect what you did at MCA and what you are trying to do at Wesley Christian. We enjoy playing your teams as well.

Good luck today.

I don't think it's right, this is just my opinion. You blow a team out ,then they go through the gym and pick players up. KBA Lexington you must have roster at the first of the first game. Sportsplex you can recruit through out the whole gym. Different team each day with the same name.:dontthink

Them boys from Dorton and Virgie should have the football pads on right now for their schools instead of hooping it up at the plex in a girls tournament. I cant believe an EX NIGHTHAWK softball player wouldnt let his boys play football.

Actually this current Nighthawk/Shane softball player encouraged his players to play football and always has. I actually talked 2 into playing and helped talk Owen Caudill into playing so you have no idea. Two of them quit playing at the beginning of the season. They asked me if I would get them into this tournament so I did. It's funny that you say what you said because Owen Caudill's mom just thanked me the other day for talking to him and encouraging him to play football. If anyone told you otherwise, they flat out lied.

Don't worry about it Coach, I heard your players say they are glad they entered the tournament. I even heard a couple of them say they would love another chance to play that same team. Let those who want to play both sports do so and those who don't should be allowed to work on their basketball game without being criticized by football fans. You have built a great team, both boys and girls.

Playing football & basketball is all good but, kids should focus on what they're good at & like. John Wall didn't play football, kids today think you can play every sport. Sure but who gets scholarships.

You are exactly right. Never should a kid be made to choose between sports, but at some point someone needs to tell he/she,,,,hey you needto focus on this if u ever want to be good at something. TOO much sugar coating now-a-days.
