Hard to play games at sportsplex especially if you are not local team. . One harsh word to a specific ref today and bang , u get seat belt rule and them u tell the other official he finally can see to make a call and bang again u are gone. Wow . These two officials should of never been calling . One was. 5 min late getting to game even if he was Already in the gym. Other coach was on floor the whole game and never once was put back in his box. , guess it's all from where u come from. Oh well. No more . Got their last money from us.

All you guys do is whine and cry from what I could see. Your HEAD Coach should coach more and whine less. Refs do suck though but AB Combs is 30 miles away. They are not a LOCAL team. Basketball is a CONTACT sport. Stay over in big Inez, we dont care.

Are you allowed to hit people now? I wasn't at the game, but I just have to respectfully disagree.
I'm sorry but contact sports are football, hockey, Lacrosse, etc... not basketball.

Basketball is a contact sport, refs try to watch for advantages from contact, no harm no foul. It's to tough judge, but I too have left the sportsplex disgruntled. Overall it aint that bad.....yet. IMO.

Dirk Flinchum was on the AB Combs game he is from Perry County.
Mike Melton was on the Whitesburg game he is from Letcher County.
To me that makes AB Combs and Whitesburg the "local" team.
Sportsplex is living high on the hog right now, but I'm afraid if they don't start treating everyone a little more fairly...their business may go down. This place is a nice perk for all the local referees who call games there, but they need to remember if the teams stop coming they'll be out of a job.
Personally, as an official, I would not want to be put on games that featured teams from the place where I lived. It's really a no win situation. If you call it straight up, then the people in your home town are mad. If you give them a break and the other team gets wind of where you are from, then you are playing favorites.
Eastern Ky. is too small, everyone knows everyone, and it's an election year on top of that...

I have heard the same thing about the refs.It could be a great place to play for the kids.I saw the A.B Combs coach and one ref laughing and joking before a game. This will put this place out of business.Teams that travel a long way will NOT come and get done poorly!!!!!!!!!!!! But I am from Letcher so I should be still!!!!!

Well after a little thought, yes the refs are horrible. Dont stay in Inez, I like you guys and all your fans. Come back over and play. Maybe you wont have 2 Perry County boys reffing against you next time. I think after reffing 5 or 6 games in a row, I'd probably miss a lot of calls as well. They may of cheated some though. I didnt watch the whole games. I saw some bad calls though for both teams.

The past weekend's tournament was A BCI tornament. Knott County Sportsplex rented the floors (to BCI) for the event. Officials were hired by BCI. I wasn't there (out of town for weekend), but 99 % of time officiating is fair. Sportsplex is havig their own tournament October 9/10 contact Greg at 497-6718 for more info.
