I've heard enough about this because all the people that are jealous of Paintsville up here in Ky have to bring this up. They bring this up because their team isn't good enough to beat the Tigers and they have nothing else to say. I am not sure about the scores, but I know P-ville got slashed by Milton and lost to a very good Ridgeview team. I think that Ridgeview ended up winning that last game by 20 or so... The game was tied at the half, but the Tigers just lost it in the second half. So, if you think your team can beat Paintsville as bad as they took it in GA. then you are wrong. This didn't even matter to the Tigers. They just went down there to play, so that they could get better because teams down there play DEFENSE. Great tournament Tigers, keep up the good work.:thumb:

I would agree with most but not all. The biggest being that it doesn't matter.
I know if my kid was on the team it had better matter otherwise why take the risk of going that far just to pass a ball around.
At the same time I'm sure if they had gone down there and kicked butt it would have really meant something.
Good Luck Tigers the rest of the way.

But you gotta remember, Paintsville isn't the only team in the area to go away from here for a tougher schedule.... Others are doing it also, so hats off to all the teams and coaches for making there teams instead of there records better.

Talked to Blake Bundy, he said they were defeated 18 points in the second half, he also thought that was the game Landon sat out most of the second half with a bum ankle. If Landon is out I can see that a major blow to the team morale.

Dont worry guys, the game was all just an optical illusuion. It never really happened . It was all just a mirage.:Hammer3:

I wouldn't exactly come on here saying teams arent good enough to beat Paintsville. They can be beat, and will be by someone else in the region by the end of the year.

Look, I know Paintsville got it "put on 'em" in Georgia. I got called with the outcomes, but I have never been one to remember a score of any game... either we won or we lost... score is of no consequence to me... neither are individual ppg. It's all for naught, if you lose. Since we got our butt's kicked down there, I'd like to believe we learned something from it, made some adjustments, and are ready to move on. Now, as for Paintsville's future, you probably need to begin another thread, this one's about Paintsville in Georgia. If anyone out there would like to scratch up the dried stuff and talk about it... you know what they say about scratching "dried stuff"..........

Its always hard to go to an out-of-state tournament and play bigger teams like that...but Paintsville had to show alot of heart and resilency.....and going to tournaments like that and playing better teams only makes Paintsville better.....and look what it done for them in the hoops classic.....everyone better watch out for the Tigers!

Maybe that is the same reason that other teams that come to play in the Paintsville tournament didn't do so well.
What other tournament are you talking about Paintsville playing in? According to the KHSAA they only played in one single game and won it on a trip that they took to Georgia. The only thing that any one else knows about are those "optical illusion " games that never happened. Of coase the KHSAA does show that they played at a tournament in Paintsville, Kentucky called the Tiger Hoops Classic, and shows that they won 4 straight games.

yeah Willy and like I said playing bigger and better teams can only make them better....my point is was look at how they done in the Hoops Classic

I agree, you go to far away tournments to get better but as far as the score goes you can get beat by 20 pts. or 1 pt. it don't matter its still a loses and you can learn from it

I agree with Chilly, whts up? I guess coach runyon thinks if it dont get posted, it didnt happen.... hahahha. But, rules are rules.

Paintsville is overrated. They'll be beat plenty of times this year by teams in there region, I'd bet money sais they don't go to state.
01-03-2006, 01:17 AM
What I dont understand is that why does so many people give Paintsville a hard time??? If I was willing to bet everybody that does that goes to Johnson Central and are mad because they cant beat Paintsville. Or they are fat men who think they know it all.
01-03-2006, 08:57 AM
Pinerider, do you know why there losses in Georgia isnt posted on the KHSAA scoreboard page? All the wins after there losses down there are posted. I think that is what people are talking about. According to that page, Paintsvilles record is 9-1. Is that really there record?
01-03-2006, 10:22 AM
I think the reason it was brng up so much around here was they would not report theloss and would report they wins. just like friday night the wymt poll they said they had won 8 straight that was not the case and people are tried of everyone thinking paintsville is unstopable and sporting a better record then they truly have.
01-03-2006, 01:20 PM
Of course they would rather just report the wins, but that doesnt mean they didnt lose on the other hand. I think it should be a coaches responsibility to report both wins and loses. Let the players show how good they are on the court, not hiding it when you lose because it was out of state wont make them a better team. Learning from the games when you come out on the short end of the scoring stick will.

9-1 in games that matter, that one loss coming in the first regular season game at Lawrence County
01-03-2006, 04:17 PM
Paintsville has gotten a lot better since then
01-03-2006, 04:18 PM
i think this team wont win the rest of the games in the region, but they certainly could if they keep playing like they have been
01-03-2006, 04:18 PM
its hard to win so many games in a row, theyll have an off night one game at least
01-03-2006, 04:19 PM
but they dont have to win every game to go to state
01-03-2006, 04:35 PM
yea
01-03-2006, 08:38 PM
they couldnt win without the 15th's refs by their side
01-03-2006, 10:17 PM
Give it a rest Bo, if you watches Paintsville basketball the last 3-4 years then you would know that there are a quite a few refs in this region that DO NOT like Paintsville at all. Mike Hall is the worst ref in this region, he screws Paintsville every which way he can, Mike Walker never helps Paintsville, Todd Duff never helps Paintsville, Wendell Wallen I don't even wanna get into that, he is horrible.
As for Paintsville in Georgia, THIS IS FOR YOU ChillyWilly, Paintsville lost to the 5A school from Florida 77-45, when I can get a score from the game against the SC team I will post it, I hope you get great pleasure out of this.

"TERMINATOR X" Wrote:9-1 in games that matter, that one loss coming in the first regular season game at Lawrence CountyIf the other games didnt matter, why report the wins then? Or is it just the loses that doesnt matter but the wins do? The sad part is, I bet they learned more from the loses than they did in the win over Hilton Head, they won it by 28.... Or does that game not matter either?
I did see on the scoreboard page they did report one of the loses from Georgia, I just wonder when the other one is going to be posted?
