Report: Magic, Quentin Richardson Reach Deal

ORLANDO, Fla. -- A person familiar with the negotiations says the Orlando Magic have agreed to a deal with free agent Quentin Richardson.

The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the deal had not been officially announced. Terms of the contract were not immediately known.

Richardson's signing means the Magic are likely parting ways with free agent small forward Matt Barnes. They also have until Friday to decide if they want to match the $19 million, three-year offer Chicago made for restricted free agent J.J. Redick.

Richardson averaged 8.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game starting at small forward last season for Miami.

The deal was first reported by Yahoo! Sports.

this makes me wonder if they are gonna let J.J Redick Go To The Bulls?

This would give the Magic a better looking squad this up coming season. I would definitley approve of getting Richardson, guy's a shooter.

How good is this Richardson dude? I think that this means that the writing is on the wall for Reddick.... Right? Like I have said before Im not completely up on the NBA.

i believe Redick is gone. according to sources the Magic don't have the money to match The Bulls Offer For Redick. it wasn't the $19 Million the bulls offered it was a luxury tax or something like that. so i believe the Magic signed Quentin Richardson to take JJ Redick's place

lol.. I promise not to get in a "heat"ed argument.. but IMO Richardson has more to offer on his game than Reddick does.. Hops, better ball handler.. They both like to shoot the trey so we could go on for days about their shooting ability.
