Hurry up football season!
#1
Okay, Im tired of the basketball talk. Im tired of still seeing it on television. Im tired of everything hoop and ball. BRING ME MY FOOTBALL SEASON! I am a man that could live happily for the rest of my life with football 24/7. I dont care. Im the guy that stays up late on Tuesday nights watching an Idaho and New Mexico State game that has no bearing on the rest of the college football world. Yeah, Im an Alabama fan, and as are all true Bama fans, we want football all year, but I cant wait to see what everybody else is bringing to the table! How is Texas gonna be without Colt McCoy? Is this the year that Nebraska wins the Big 12? How about Florida without Tim Tebow and some defensive starters (Haden, Dunlap, etc)..who is gonna be the surprise team? Will Boise whine again all year long about not getting respect to play for the title (they shouldnt, nor should they ever until they join a real football conference)? How about the Big East? Theres a lot going on in that conference. How about Cincy without Kelly, Pike, Gilyard..Will Pitt take that conference this yr? HURRY FOOTBALL SEASON! Save us football fans from this basketball ****!

I love me some college football but college basketball takes the cake for me. When college basketball ends, I want college football to start back asap, and visversa. There's nothing like waking up early on a Saturday morning to College Gameday, with a slate of intense football to watch the rest of the day. I'm like TidesHoss, I don't miss a football game on a week day.
I think Texas will be fine without McCoy. The back up(can't think if his name), played well in the titile game considering the circumstances. Heck, Texas may have won if McCoy wouldn't have got injured. I think the Sooners return enough to be considered the favorites in the B12, with Nebraska being a darkhorse.
Florida will be fine too. I hate 'em but they'll be good as long as Meyer's there. They won't have no rebuilding years, just reloading. Brantley plays nothing like Tebow, he's strickly a pocket passer but he was player of the year coming out of high school.
IMO Boise St has a right to complain. There a good team, and can compete with anyone. I hope there able to join a major conference soon and well see if they can keep this level of success. Let's not forget, Utah went 13-0 in '08 and they were criticized for there weak schedule, then they destroyed Alabama in a bowl game. Alabama was ranked #1 most of the year too.
I think Cincy will sink back to the level they were before Kelly became coach there. I honestly think Kelly will turn ND around. He's had quick turnarounds everywhere he's went.
USC will be an interesting team to keep track of with Kiffin.

Good post, but IMO, a smaller conference team shouldnt be considered a serious contender for a title game unless they play in a real conference OR fill out the non conference schedule full of good power conference teams. If you play in the MWC or the WAC, and you play Georgia, Florida State, and Iowa, then yeah Ill listen to their argument, but not until then. Yeah Utah beat the daylights out of Bama, but this was after Bama blew a 4th quarter lead against Florida and honestly, played as flat a game as Ive ever seen a Bama team play. They didnt want to be there. I think Florida would have beaten Utah by 40 if they had met in the title game..that game was a wake up call for us though..I absolutely 110% agree with you on USC and Kiffen, and Notre Dame. Those were two GREAT points to bring up. I like your posts Aslan, even though I may not agree with you on all of them, but I do respect your knowledge and input. Keep it up, bro.

LOL..well, there IS two things that a UT fan and a Bama fan can agree on (other than despising Florida), is that we all LOVE our football. So yeah, Ill welcome that agreement

Well never know for sure though. College football needs some kind of playoff system. IDK exacly the #. 4, 8, 16. Having multiple undefeateds at the end of the season shouldn't happen and it's just not a fair system for all the teams.
