Good win for Ashland West had been playing well.

Congrats Ashland!! Sounds like a really strong game. Great game for Delaney. One more game left and then tourney time.

Jeremy Webb does a very solid job with West Carter. I was impressed with how well they broke Ashland's zone press, without ever dribbling the ball. Two or three times in a row, they went the length of the floor via the pass (only).

Ashland seemed to shoot the ball a little better tonight than they have been.

Will Skaggs had an extremely good game, with a couple of really nice passes, solid defense, and some nice drives down the lane. It will be a while before Ashland sees another point guard that runs the team as well as he does.

I was watching Rayburn warm up before the game tonight, he was stroking everything he put up! It was a good game to watch.

Ashland has one more regular season game to play this Friday night at Russell. Ashland should expect a hard game with the Red Devils, any possibility the Cats will look past them this Friday Squid?

If anyone overlooks Russell now, shame on them. They put it on us last year, when we didn't get the ball inside to Bonner. I think we are smart enough to have learned from last year's loss, and not to repeat it.

At least, I hope so.

Ashland looks more fluid now on offense. I think that is due to the road games at East Carter, GRC and Elliott.

The press looked a step slow or something tonight, what was going on?

I think you are right about the offense. Playing GRC was absolutely good for us. East and Elliott were also learning opportunities.

As for the press, I really don't know. It seems that teams that are well coached really don't struggle too badly against our press. We get steals out of it, but we give up a lot of runouts against better teams. I guess that if you have it on video, you can really break it down. Ultimately, we either have to give up the pass to the middle, or the reversal. When teams make that reversal and look immediately down court, it seems like the press just breaks down.

The front three in our press run their backsides off, but then again, our depth allows us to get away with that.

Sounds like it was a little more of a consistent offense for Ashland. Hope that Ashland keeps it up.

What year did he graduate? For some reason I remember that name really well... may have played against him.

On paper, it was not a bad game

I'm not positive on what year he graduated, but it seems like he played in the mid-90's. He played for Grady Lowe, on what has to be one of the best waves of talent that West Carter has had for a long time.

Webb also played college ball after he graduated (I believe it was at Morehead, but I'm not certain of that).

Yeah, that sounds about right... I played around the time of Jackson Juleson and that bunch...
