Shamrocks Roll Over Oldham County With Late Surge
Mr. Basketball Candidate Josh Sewell Leads Shamrocks With 20 Points
LaGrange, Ky. –Trinity (1-1) pulled away late from Oldham County (0-4) to claim a 64-42 win on the road. The Rocks outscored the Colonels 19-8 in the final period to claim the 22-point win.
Leading Mr. Basketball candidate Josh Sewell scored 20 points to lead the Shamrocks. Sewell was 10-of-11 from the free throw line and added seven rebounds.
Sewell scored six of the Shamrocks nine first quarter points as the Rocks jumped out to a 9-2 lead.
Senior Taylor Epley led the Rocks on the boards with nine karams to go along with his 12 points. He is the only Shamrock to score in double figures in each of Trinity’s first two games.
The Shamrocks hit 16-of-19 from the free throw line in the game.
It was the first 20-point victory for Trinity since a 22-point win over Warren East on Jan. 31, 2009.
Trinity returns to action on Friday, December 11, 2009 when the Rocks travel to Waggener for their district opener. Trinity returns home on Dec. 15, 2009 against Ballard.
