Junior Demitri Brown carried the ball 10 times for 41 yards and fellow junior Donald Watson added nine carries for 33 yards to lead the Newport rushing attack.
Junior Brandon Carter scored on a 25 yard run, followed by a 2-point conversion pass from Brown as Newport cut the lead to 20-16 in the fourth quarter.
But Fleming County went on to score consecutive touchdowns.

Fleming dominated the 1st half with Newport scoring right before the break to make it 20-8 at the half. No one scored in the 3rd and then Newport scored to cut it to 4 before Fleming found some offense and scored 2 more times.
