lets say South Laurel is in the WYMT.....Paintsville is in the tourney as well....there might be a possibility of these 2 teams playing twice this year....only if South is in the Wymt

South Laurel is not in the WYMT Tournament....North Laurel is....And it will still be an awfully good tournament with Paintsville, South Floyd, and Betsy Layne of the 15th, Hazard, Leslie, and Knott of the 14th, and Harlan I believe joining NL from the 13th....

WOW, PCC not in the WYMT. Never thought I'd see that, BUT that does give a couple of other teams a chance to play in this tradition-rich tourney. I do wish more 15th region teams would send in their applications to be in the tourney, because it seems the same one's from over that way are always in it. When is the last time Johnson Central was in the tourney, or Pikeville, or Allen Central?
Still, going to be a good tourney, with the Bulldogs trying for a 3-peat. IF they can be put in different brackets, a Hazard, Paintsville, Leslie, and North Laurel final 4 would be fun to watch, or even Harlan taking NL's place.

Every school in the mountains receive an application for the WYMT tournament. All schools get the opportunity to apply but most don't. WYMT does try to get the best teams from the regions to play but unfortunately all do not desire to do so. But, there is very few times that all 8 teams are not top quality teams.

I just wished one of those certain teams was South Laurel....it would be a very interesting tournament with them in it.....but I heard around the rumor mill that another team backed out of the tournament and that South might be takin the vacant spot....North is already in it i know.....but there is still a possibility of South ending up being in it as well

No, I know from the best source that every mountain school gets in application/invitation, and then those who want to hopefully be a part of the tourney, send that app. back in, and then WYMT makes the choices on who to have in it, in the case that there are more than 8 teams who send apps. in. THAT is how they get invited, after applications are sent to WYMT.
