Phelps has a pretty solid team and I and say this game will be over quickly, I don't think they will overlook Belfry in this one and they will put an end to Belfry's many run. Phelps by 20+ in this one I just think Phelps has to much of a team for Belfry.:dontthink

I have to say that McCoy is a good player. She may score up to six points a game, and have maybe that many rebounds, but she is not a real big assest to the team. I think they can win w/o her.

Phelps beat Belfry 20 some points before, and have beat better teams than Belfry. I don't see why they wouldn't win.

Your kidding right? McCoy is by far the best player on that team. When she's not in the game they fall apart. She can play any position on the floor (and she has had to because the other girls are scared to bring the ball up the floor against pressure) I have watched her get the defensive rebound, bring the ball up the floor, give it to one of the guards, and then go post up, and after she scored she played the front of the press. So don't give me this crap about her not being an assest to the team. They have only won 5 games this year, the only thing they did last night was prolong the agony...I say Phelps by 20+.....

Belfry vs. Phelps:
Without McCoy - PHS 75 - BHS 55 (it was a 35 point game until JR pulled his starters and Stiltner left her starters in to cut it to 20)
With McCoy - PHS 44 - BHS 30 (it was a 4 or 5 point game until about 2-3 minutes to go in the game)

Mr. Sportsfan, you obviously judge basketball talent by the stat sheet. McCoy is the best all-around player on that team. Are there better scorers on the team? Probably. Are there better passers? Maybe. Are there better defenders? Doubt it. Are there better rebounders? NO. McCoy makes everyone around her better. There is a lot of talent and potential on this team, however, McCoy is the leader of the team, the glue that holds the team together. McCoy has the intangibles that makes a team better. So, to say that she is not an asset to the team is totally asinine.

The box and one does not work on Pruitt this time...Phelps by 22!!!

What did they prove? McCoy has not played against Pikeville any this year. Belfry just got lucky. Go back and check the scores of when they played Phelps the first time Phelps beat them by about 25 and that was after he put his jv in and Belfry didn't and McCoy didn't play. The second time McCoy did play and Phelps beat them 30 to 44 a different ball game. So i would say she a BIG assest to the team.

I agree with everybody else, McCoy is a big asset to the team.
she may not be the leading scorer but with her rebounding and defending she makes belfry an even more talented team.
but as for the game, i'm gonna say phelps by 20+

In response to the earlier comment I made, I was in no way trying to put another player down. I am a former Belfry player, with children and grandchildren of my own. I was trying to encourage the Lady Pirates after I read the other posts about no McCoy, no win. I would not deliberatley put a player down and didnt mean for it to sound that way. All I am saying is that they are a young team and I was trying to support them because there is so much negative talk. I think that the team is full of talent and I don't want to see them discouraged. They can pull together and pull off a win if they want.

BTW every member of the team is an asset to the team, if they want to be. By no means I meant no disrespect.
