Final Semi-Finals week ---
In recognition of the terrible job that the BCS has done in crowning a true national champion, I thought I would take a stab at creating an 8 team (band) tournament, ran over the next 6 weeks to crown the best 80's band.
In week 4 we have two super powers of Rock Van Halen & Journey. Who do you take?

Van Halen

I am in agreement with you. Journey had some great songs, but most were slow or ballads. I'm all for "BLOW YOUR EARS OUT"fas moving music.
Van Halen for me.

Journey.

Wow this is tuff. Love both of these bands but I had to go with Journey for the simple fact that "Dont Stop Believin" is my favorite song.

Journey just because I've seen them in concert and they're pretty good even though they have a guy from the Phillipines who is their lead singer now.
01-25-2009, 02:31 AM
Journey all the way.
They're just one of those band who stood the test of time.
I'm 17 and they're one of my favorite groups!

When I was 17, they were one of my favorite groups as well, but that was 30 years ago.

Journey was one of my favorite bands of the '80s. They had something soulful and something special that kept you coming back for more.
Although, Van Halen had some good hits, Journey was the bomb.

VAN HALEN!!!!This isnt even a contest and whoever on here that votes for Journey over VH are just proving they know nothing of music.

I'll say Journey because I like about 20 of their songs. I do love "Jump" by Van Halen though! It pumps me up!

I give the edge to Van Halen. They have influenced more bands that came after them then journey ever will. Journey also gets points deducted for their bass player being an American Idol judge.

That's a great point. There is not a Metal Axe man today, over over the last 20 years, that does not throw credit to Eddie Van Halen as an influence.

Holy crap, I can't believe Journey is actually leading this poll...
Van Halen, one of the all-time greats, getting punked by Journey? Where are all the true rock fans on here?
