Just asking for info. Maybe a stupid thread, but who knows, someone may want to know.

I think it's a very wise thread. Any way to keep someone from being injured is a good thread. As far as for cold weather I wouldn't have any ideas. If cramps become a problem, make sure you eat bananas before a game. Always eliminates that problem.

Be sure to stretch a lot and often. You muscles will tighten up a lot quicker making it easier to pull something.

haha, i forget that BCF never played football, but that's funny, it's nearly impossible to cramp in cold weather, the only time it's easy to cramp is at the beginning of the season when it's really hot and the players arent in as good of shape as they should be. But who knows, maybe alot of ppl will cramp tonight, that's just what I kno from experience, lol, but my suggestion to any players who are looking NOT to get hurt tonight is to play as hard as they can every play and not take any plays off, because i also know from experience that when u start taking plays off is when u get hurt.

Sorry RB but I used to cramp up quite a bit after basketball games once I got on a cooler school bus or laying in my bed under the air conditioning. But I was aware that most people cramp up more during hot weather. Just figured I'd make myself sound intelligent.

A person can cramp in cold weather they are sweating and getting hot, so am I correct on this.

Absolutely, you can cramp in cold weather. It is not nearly as likely and does not happen as often, but I do see it happen many times a year. A bigger worry in cold weather is pulling a muscle though due to a lack of stretching and keeping the body warm.

Underarmor...expensive...but effective

i always drank plenty of water and stretched well before games. One way to drink lots of water is to take a drink at every water fountain you pass at school that always helped me. Stretch by yourself during the warm ups if need been there are a few extra ham string and back stretches you can do that are quick and easy and help alot. As for the expensive under armor... we never had that i played without a shirt rain, shine, snow, ...whatever else there could be so i don't know if that would accually help unless you're an underclassman on the sidelines thats when you get cold i.e. freshman year at hazard in the playoffs i thought i would lose my fingers and toes before it was over...

Proper warm up is all that's necessary to prevent muscle pulls. Any other kind of injury (bruises, broken bones, sprains) would happen whether it's cold or hot.

How about the underarmor shirts from Wal-Mart.

Strech more and take a little longer to warm your muscles...
