Good Job Cats, it appears that the two big boys came to play in both the A and B games.

There is no reason for Dorton to have not beaten a small team such as Kimper. Dorton has a 6'7" player that all he has to do is stand there under the goal and collect rebounds. However, Dorton has had their butts given to them by several teams on a silver platter. Such as: Virgie slaughtered them, Feds Creek has whooped them, and JC has whooped them.

You're right. Dorton is such a large school!
Actually probably the 2nd or 3rd smallest in the county. With 35 total 8th grade girls and boys in the school as compared to the 100 of Millard, Virgie, almost 200 of Belfry, and 300+ of Johnson Central. I don't say much, but I will defend our school's record against most over the past 15 years.
Also, Virgie and Johnson Central are pretty good teams and Feds Creek does well for a small school. Not that it matters, but we beat FC by almost 20. Johnson Central beat us pretty badly in a scrimmage at Pikeville and by 7 in the Pikeville College tournament. Virgie beat us 18, 35, and 9.
I guess it's about time we had a down year!

Dorton is a very small school and does really well. They have improved a great deal this year and will surprise some people in February.

IMO nobody should have anything bad to say about Dorton. They are a very tough team, and they play as hard if not harder than any team in the county. The teams that have beat them are all good teams, Virgie has beat us(Millard) twice, but that does not mean we are not a good team. Feds Creek gave us all we wanted at Feds Creek. This year in Pike County, any team can beat any team on any given night. Kimper on the other hand is not the same Kimper team we have saw in the past. Them boys can play ball. They have turned their program around 100% from the past several years.
There is no room in Middle School sports to bash teams or players. These boys are young and still have a lot of learning to do. Randy has done a heck of a job with his bunch this year, I think they are a good team.

Good win coach. A "w" in this county is always a positive thing. You have a great team and school and have good reason to be proud.

I have to agree with The Wizard. I hear a lot of good things about the coach and team. He does come on here and give stats and info about middle school basketball that otherwise would not be reported and he needs to be applauded for even being on here where he can publicly account for his team. WAY TO GO COACH.
