I just seen on khsaa.org that Prestonsburg lost this game 70-28? Someone please tell me the score is incorrect.

Highlands junior guard Stephen Kowolonek led all scorers with 14 points, helping the Bluebirds (6-3) defeat Prestonburg 70-28 in the Gateway Holiday Classic at Mount Sterling.

The Bluebirds bounced back from a 56-53 loss to Madison Central on Saturday.

Junior guard Zach Lother added 12 points.

Wow. That is typically the score when an Eastern Kentucky team plays Highlands in football, not basketball.

My goodness. They put up 61 against Scott Co. but can't score 30 against Highlands? Oh well I guess.

Highlands is very good this year and could compete to win there region, Highlands has a very good coaching staff who know how to win games and always have great shooters, so this score is nothing out of the ordinary. Its early so the Blackcats and coach Pack can use this as a learning experience and hopefully turn a negative into a positive.

From what I understand this was Prestonsburg worst game of the year, but that's still no excuse.

I talked with a few players and they said that it was some of the best defense they had seen, but they also said that they played a horrible game by finishing with 31 turnovers.

Are you serious? What teams in the 15th can play with the likes of Highlands (who's in the top 20 in most polls) besides Valley?

Prestonsburg is in the top 5 in the region, but the problem we have is showing up each game and I noticed that when we played in the US 23 Highway tourney at Johnson Central by playing decent against JC, playing terrible against JBS, playing really well against Pikeville, and whipping Magoffin County.
