Not to Jinx Johnson Central but....

... the Eagles are currently leading the state averaging 403.6 rushing yards per game and are on pace to have the most rushing yards in State History.

The state record for rushing yards was set by Mercer County when they averaged shy of 386 rushing yards per game. The Titans also advanced to the State Finals.

Green County also has a shot at the reord as they are averaging 386 yards per game at the moment as well.

Ya that and did u all kno that Johnson Central is ranked i think 3rd nationally in rushing yards this year and have a great chance to take over the number 1 spot if they keep their head on straight!

Considering Belfry has a chance to rain on JC's parade with this record it is also fitting to note that Belfry's Thomas Varney is currently averaging 14.66 yards per carry.

The State record is 15.0 yards per carry set by Dontay Spillman. If Varney can maintain this average and run the ball over 75 times then he will currently be second all-time. Ivan Lee, with his 13.65 yards per carry average is currently on pace for the third best yard per carry average all time. Belfry's Chase Maynard currently is smashing the record with his 23 yard per carry average... but he only has 18 carries and 414 yards.

JC's Chase Richardson is also in the mix averaging 13.45 yards per carry, also on pace for 3rd All-Time.

Good stuff there, EKU.

IMO, JC could have a lot better average than that. Glad that Matney is looking at the bigger picture other than stats. Hope they do get it, and if they do get that record than they owe it to their offensive line.
