Well, we can honestly say that this season is lost for the Bengals, the question is, who should they get in next year's draft?

Between the draft and FA, I'd like us to try to sign Matt Birk if we can lure him away from the Vikings.
Draft Oher from Ole Miss in the first round to play tackle.
In the second round, I'd take Maurice Evans from Penn State or Selvie from South Florida, both DEs, because the Giants proved that the key to success is as much pressure on the opposing QB as possible.
In the third, I'm still impressed with Benson so I'm not big on drafting a back (and Benson's proving my point as we speak), so maybe an offensive guard- Parker from Tennessee or Urbik from Wisconsin. Maybe a linebacker here, but I like Urbik.
In the fourth round, I'd take Eric Wood- center from Louisville because even if we sign Birk, he's old so we need to groom his replacement.
There's more, but that looks good for now.
Thoughts?

I must say, they surprised me, and Benson had a great game rushing, and Fitzpatrick didn't do half bad, considering Jacksonville dropped a few of his bad passes. Also, Chad done great so I guess T.J. is good at guarnateeing a victory. Now, all we have to do is get another win for T.J's prediction to be true, although I'd rather them try to get better draft picks for next year, their still my team and I will root for them regardless.

I agree with you that the O-line is probably the biggest need in the offseason. Stacy Andrews has been a disappointment, Levi Jones is only a shell of his former self, and Eric Ghuiaciac is maybe the worst center in the league. I must say though that I was impressed with the fire shown yesterday by Whitworth, not to mention the leadership he displayed by calling an offensive-players meeting the day before.
I agree 100% that we need an offensive tackle with the 1st round pick, someone to anchor the left side for the next 10 years. After that, I don't know. The O-line could still use some more talent. We may need another RB, since Benson is only on a 1-year deal right now. We probably need another LB, since Rivers is the only impact guy we have there right now, although Dhani Jones is adequate. I guess we could take another DE, but only if you felt he would be an upgrade over Geathers or Odom. If Sims and Shirley progress we may not need a DT right away. The secondary seems okay, although I wouldn't mind another safety. We should be good at receiver and TE.

We'll sign Benson to longer pretty soon: he's said that he'll come back.
I'm not looking for an upgrade over Geathers or Odom, just guys that can rotate in to keep them fresh. Also, Odom was only in for rushing downs for the Titans, and that's how he did best.
I don't think we need to take a backer this year, and I think we're fine with Sims, Shirley, Peko, Myers, whoever else, and even Thornton played well rotating in on passing downs yesterday. Sims is already producing.
We have the top corner duo in the league (Joseph was struggling this year til this past week), and I think Marvin White and Ndukwe are solid at safety, not to mention that putting Dexter Jackson back on an aggressive D next season will bring him back to form, and I think Lynch has the potential to be a John Lynch, only better with a lot more big play ability.

In my opinion, the offensive line is at the root of all the Bengals' offensive problems this year. If you fix that and give Carson more time to throw, he'll be fine next year. At the least we need a left tackle, since Levi Jones is simply not an elite talent anymore. I have been disappointed with Andrews on the right side, but he is still young enough to improve. With Whitworth and Bobbie Williams, not sure we need a guard. Oh, and a new center is a MUST.
I still think we need another impact player at LB, one just isn't enough. Rivers will be a star, but he's going to need some help. I am satisfied with the D-line, what with Odom, Sims and Shirley being added to Peko and Geathers. Thornton still needs to go.
My priorities for next year's draft:
#1 = left tackle
#2 = linebacker
#3 = center (actually probably the most pressing need, but you don't draft them very high)
#4 = running back (unless they re-sign Benson)
