Fairland Dragons came into the Russell Red Devils house today with a perfect record on the line, with a BYE this week in the Ohio-West Virginia Tri-State Youth Football Football League, Fairland was looking at defeating the DEVILS and keeping their NUMBER -1 position alive. The DRAGONS are the number one ranked team in the TSYFL out of 18 teams covering Southeastern Ohio and West Virginia.
The DEVILS were handed their hats after watching the Dragons in a no-huddle offense, with wrist bands on every arm, march down field and score on their opening drive. The DEVILS woke up and held the XP out of the endzone. Trailing 6-0 and starting their opening drive, the DEVILS only needed 4 plays to go 70 yards and BRONSON KORZEP scored the TD on a 10 yard scamper, Connor Messer pounded in the XP. Fairland then turns the ball over on downs and the DEVILS go back to basics with Korzep busting a 50 yard run and then Messer topping the score to make it 14-6. Logan SU-DOG Suman grinds out the XP with a 3 yard blast to add the 2 point conversion. Devils up 16-6. The DRAGONS then take the ball and grind out the clock only to turn it over after punting and placing the Devils on their own 20. The DEVILS took 7 plays that ended with Connor Messer throwing a TD pass to the Birth-Day boy Garion Robinson. Devils up 22-6, Bobby May was stopped 2 inches short of the goal line to keep the score 22-6 at the half.
The DEVILS start the third quarter with a 7 play-70 yard drive that ended with a TD pass from Bronson Korzep to Maverick Dixon. Dixon's catch made the score 28-6 with the XP no-good. Fairland then takes over on their 30 and after a short drive, Connor Messer intercepts a pass to take the drive away. Then after 5 plays and the DEVILS poised to score again on a first and goal from the 9..........The DRAGONS coach walks out to the middle of the field and calls it a game.. The Fairland Dragons asked to end the game in the third quarter......
