Why do this? This is a Hazard thread and they should be proud of there new field.

Tonight, Friday, Sept. 19th, Hazard plays Harlan City in the first game on the new field. The game begins at 7:30 but there will be a special ceremony and re-dedication of the field at 7 pm. I would like to invite everyone out to be a part of this special night, see the new field and yell for the Bulldogs.

HAZARD BULLDOGS!!!!

I am a WestKy guy not used to the mountains so this may be a stupid question, the field look amazing, but where do people park? It looks like the field is cut out of a hill.

:thatsfunn

The parking lot is beside the field and people park along the road beside the school. In the mountains, most things are "cut of a side of a hill" or just put on the side of one. I grew up in the mountains, but I love being able to see a storm coming from miles away rather than just looking up and saying..."It looks like a big one..."....lol

Congrats to the Hazard program on having one of the best fields in the state.....

I'm at work and don't have my notes, but most turf projects run in the 500-750K range. Depends on which turf you go with. Mtn. teams are getting a huge break thanks to coal or const. companies donating the "tear it out and level it" part, which is about half of the cost.

Actually the Hazard High campus is located in a "holler". A hollow is the area in between two hills. At one time this location was known as "Happy Hollow". As you drive up the hollow there is the high school, then a large parking lot, then the football field, then the practice field, then the baseball field and finally above that is the girl's softball field. At one time the school newspaper was known as the "Happy Hollow Script" (HHS). The parking lot is just out of view at the bottom of this picture...

Turf Really Isnt That Fun To Play On, I Like It Old School. Mud and Grime.
I love the sky view of the pic but you would think they would have black toped the regular road as well.
