MY AA Top 10
#1
1. Fort Campbell (3-0)- Needless to say they appear to eb the class of the commonwealth right now.

2. Russell (2-0)- Solid start,,, quality win over Ashland.

3. Leslie County (3-0)- At the moment one cannot argue they belong at the top,,, by season's end expect them to be lower top 10.

4. Trigg County(2-1)- In my opinion the second best team in the west. Only loss was to a strong Bowlign Green team.

5. Owensboro Catholic(2-1)- Quality win vs. 4A Apollo,,, quality loss vs. 4A Owensboro. Have a solid defense.

6. Belfry(1-1)- Still young with their best football about 8 weeks ahead of them...nonetheless their runnigng ame has been stout as has the offensive line.

7. Fleming County (1-1)- Solid football team with a very good passing game... won't be able to compete with Russell.

8. Newport(2-1)-You don't hear much about them but they are a serious darkhorse. Only loss came to NewCath who would easily win 2A this year IMO.

9. Glasgow (3-0)- same as Newport...but in WKY.

10. Mercer County(2-0)- Coupel decent wins against 4A North Laurel and Harrodsburg.

Just missing:

11. Lou. Western (2-0)- THE ONLY good team in Region 2.
12. Monroe County (2-1)- The west appears to be the overall strongest right now.

Looks pretty good....I agree that Leslie should be up towards the top and I also agree that they will be towards the bottom of the top 10 when the playoffs start.

Henry Clay was a 4A school that was loaded with D-1 prospects.Look what Henry Clay has done this year to their opponents:

Aug 20 Belfry 43 - 14 (W)
Aug 26 Boyle County 48 - 13 (W)
Sep 02 Bell County42 - 16 (W)

I guarantee you anyone in the State will not even come close to them this year. I never put much stock into the first game of the year. Teams begin to show what they're really made of 3-4 games into the season.

Yeah you can't hold Belfry accountable for their loss to Henry Clay. I don't think 2004 or 2003 Blefry could have come within 2 TD's of HC. They are just a hard nosed football program.
