Hard To Cheer For Hazard?

bluegrassballa Wrote:Ok, and if the students can go where they want, whats the arguement? And yes, again with the get over it. If you can't handle the fact that your wrong, don't even reply. And my reasons make alot more sense than yours my friend. I'm not trying to act big in front of everynody on here like you do.

We can debate until Christmas: I hold that recruitment and transfer for athletic reasons violate the spirit of competitive fairness, for reasons so stated. You hold that, as far as I can tell, I should get over it, that I'm wrong for no apparent reason other than you believe high school is high time for high times and that kids should go where they want. If speaking and writing with decent spelling and grammar are "acting big," so be it. I attack your arguments; I don't attack you. It is hard for me to cheer for Hazard.

Why? Decent spelling and grammar, trying to make logical arguments with premises and conclusions? These things suggest that a person thinks their intellect is "superior"? Why? Hope you feel better.

I really don't see how it takes it out, but you have your reasons. I'm not gonna sit here and keep argueing with you. Some people think like you do. It takes the competitive fairness out of games. And the others, they think that it is fine to transfer. As long as the kids are happy.

Don't cheer for Hazard, who cares what you do. Whitaker brought his boys to Hazard simply because he was looking for a job and just couldn't bare to leave those boys living by themselves in Bell Co. Whitaker also interviewed for the Perry Central job, prior to Hazard and Perry said NO. It's not a matter of competitive fairness as you like to say it's a guy looking for a job and finally getting one. He just happens to have a couple good ball players that live with him. GET OVER IT!!Smile

I am not "over it." Competitive fairness is something the KHSAA should be interested in, whether you are or not. Why should I care if anyone else cares or not? Is that how you operate in your life? taking public opinion polls about who cares and who doesn't? And, it IS a matter of competitive fairness.

This thread was particularly about Hazard this year. Recruiting and school shopping by athletes and parents for athletic reasons does happen at a lot of schools. This thread was not intended to suggest otherwise.
