Bulldogs host the Blackcats for final scrimmage before regular season begins. This one should be a dandy between two very good teams!

Very good to see these two programs clawing their way back into regional championship contention. I thought this was an excellent scrimmage decision by both HC’s this year. Both teams seem like they return most of their firepower from last year that will have alot of varsity experience going into this scrimmage. I look for this game to look more like a week 4 or 5 game than a scrimmage because of that. Should be an excellent football game for the beginning of August! I’ve always had a ton of respect for LC and for Coach Short doing what he’s done with that program. I’ve got no dog in the fight in 3A, but I hope LC makes a deep run this year.

Well said my friend! I think there is an equal amount of respect for coach Hager and what he and the staff is doing at Prestonsburg. They have such a tradition, it’s nice to see them back doing well and continuing Blackcat football with success. They have some great guys on staff that care a lot about it and it shows.

Very much looking forward to seeing this one.

LC has a lot of weapons that are very explosive. They’ll present a lot of challenges for Pburg’s defense.

Can’t wait to see how Pburg looks with Patton likely participating in this scrimmage. Him and Johnson are going to be very dynamic. Add in the ground and pound stable of backs to wear on a defense. It’ll be a fun combination.

Both teams should get in a lot of great work to prepare them for the real stuff the following Friday and this season.

I see coach Hager has brought good football back to Prestonsburg. And I have respect for that.

3 quarters varsity and a quarter of JV is what I’ve been told

It should give both programs a look at some solid competition before their season opener! Expecting Lawrence Co to make a deep run in 3A playoffs and Prestonsburg to do the same in 2A.

I think so too! Both are loaded this year. If both teams can stay healthy they can have special seasons.

Man it's been a while since I've been on here. I think the Bulldogs program, right now, is as solid as I've seen it since the early 2000's. Granny Bear, if you see this then helo. I'm excited to see what this 2025 Dawg team can do.
