Breathitt County vs Clay County -August 8
#1
Breathitt travels to Manchester to take on Tigers on Friday August 8 th.

Wish these two could play during the regular season more. Feels like similar programs recently, comparable enrollment, and not too far of a drive for both.

Nice!

Clay picks up players from South . These two could really help the Tigers .

Heard they lost Reid to an injury. They still have the coaches

Clay had the potential to be very good this year with some kids returning to their hometown but injuries, transfers back in-county not going through, and random departures may dampen that.

I thought all transfers were going through. KHSAA denies no one anymore.

One of the greatest HS games ever played happened between these two games! Anyone else remember that night in 1989????

I don’t know all the details but they had a lineman return last year that may or may not still be ineligible. The transfers are all kids who have lived in Clay but went somewhere else for a while and came back.

So, I'm guessing the two brothers who live in Clay, who played for Knox last year and worked out at South in the winter, are now eligible at Clay. Gotta love the transfer portal.

Anyone know the score here?
#13
How’d it go? Didn’t make the trip to Manchester
#14
It was done as 10-10 scrimmage. I thought Breathitt defense much improved from last year. Didn’t give up a score vs Tigers Offense. Bobcats scored I think 6 on offense. Not to bad for there first scrimmage. Hit on some big pass plays and run ball pretty good.

It was a beat down ,breathitt killed them

Glad to see combs back on the field for Breathitt

The d needed to improve from last year so glad to hear

See Kylan Combs back out there making plays all over on defense side of ball was just amazing to see. He also made some big runs scored a TD. To think this kid a year ago didn’t know if he was ever going walk after bad vehicle accident and multiple surgeries. It just great moment seeing him back out on field again making big plays for his team.

Wasn’t there but I heard the projected starting qb didn’t play and they took a receiver and put him at quarterback or something along the lines. The two brothers played but one of the 3 transfers I was referring to is no longer playing.

The KHSAA is really damaging HS football in Ky. because there are a few schools that get who ever they want. I'm not gonna name names because heck y'all know who they are. Something really needs to be done to get the KHSAA to stop allowing these same schools to do it year in and year out if a school can't get it done with their own kids then they shouldn't be allowed to turn to the transfer portal to load up you can believe what you want but there is NO WAY
so many kid in Kentucky find it honestly necessary to transfer, man alive run a tight ship for all our get out of Dodge.

I wonder if the kid who transferred to Leslie Co. played in their scrimmage last week ?

Probably but I'm not sure.

I'm in my sixties and it seems like I remember when if a kid wanted to transfer it almost took an act of congress and they had to wait a certain amount of time before they became eligible.
