Great Crossing 71 Bowling Green 61 (KHSAA Boys' Sweet 16 Championship)
#1
Final. Great Crossing gets its first title in just their 6th season as a program. Malachi Moreno the Kentucky commit wins the MVP as he finished his high school career with 24 points on 10-11 shooting, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks. Bowling Green comes up 1 game short in trying to do the rare state titles in football and basketball in the same season.

This one just goes to show that you don't leave a game early just bc it's a blowout. But when it was a 23 point game with less than 4 minutes left in the 3rd so we decided to dip and head on home. Maybe about 30 minutes later real time, starting reading tweets that BG came back, got it within 6 early in the 4th, but never could get any closer than that. But congrats to Great Crossing on winning a state championship only 6 years into their existence. With X going down on the first day, they were definitely the favorites to win it all and they definitely did, winning every game by at least 10 points.

An interesting stat for the entire post season run Great Crossing's 9 games they only had 2 games in that stretch that were single digits and both were in the semifinal and final of the 11th region tournament a 3 point semifinal win over Bryan Station and a 2 point win over Frederick Douglass in the 11th region finals.
