Paducah Tilghman 27 Franklin Co 20 4A State Championship

A team that won however many straight games lost one game in the playoffs essentially due to one 50/50 call by one ref. But they lost. Does kentucky losing to Wisconsin in 2015 mean they weren’t the best team that year, no just means they lost in a one game series. It’s hard to go perfect so many times. Also anyone that says boyle would definitely beat PT and they are the real state champs should Georgia won the national championship over michigan last year. They never got to play because georgia lost to someone else, but plenty of people in the south think they still should have had the opportunity to be national champs.

Upsets happen. Nobody knows what would’ve happened, but anyone saying “certainly” or “the undisputed” doesn’t really understand the meaning of those words. Its all guesses about who would win what. But people supporting either team can not be for certain because they did not play.

Personally I think the best team doesn’t always win, but in reality who cares, one team gets the trophy it’s as simple as that. Congrats to PT for taking care of business (on the field and off$$$)

Yes, Georgia won the national championship last season , according to Old School's All That Matters Power Index rankings. The Bulldogs were my national champs. Michigan were frauds, just like Paducah.

3 things you can always count on.  Death, Taxes, no dull moments on Rivals.  Old School can always be counted on to stir the pot.  My team lost in week 3 and I just can't stay away.  I'm afraid I'm going to miss something as you can't beat the entertainment in here.   Big Grin  It's much better than anything on the tube!

You're gonna miss me when I'm gone.  The entertainment value of the board will decrease exponentially when Old School finally bows out. I might be crazier than a big flaming pile of bat sh!t,  but there's no hypocrisy in my spirit and I don't lie to my readers.  You get just how I feel, straight and to the point.  GO REBS!!!   5 STRAIGHT!!!

Unapologetically Yours,

Old School

Bull crapolla. Anyone who watched Boyle play this season knows they were the best team in the state of Kentucky. They seriously would have beaten the  Blue F-0's by 3+ scores. I will say however that the western KY.team gets the trophy for the most unsportsmanlike players and coaches. Taunting and cussing and spitting at an opposing team when they arrive at your field is as bas as it gets. Coaches are disgraceful that allow that. I am one who obviously prides myself on good sportsmanship, and that's why Old School will name the Boyle County Rebels the best of the best in 4A this season. Congrats Rebels. Congrats also to Franklin County and Coach James on a fine year.
Dude, you weren’t even at the game so stfu. I was there walking the entire area all night. I saw your drunk, trashy fans cussing at PTs band, I saw your trashy fans cussing officials and players, I saw your trashy fans cussing at PT fans who told them they had a good team, so spare everyone your moral high ground BS.

I have tons of respect for Franklin County.  They keep getting there and it's a battle till the end every time.  You see Franklin Co lining up in front of you,  and you've got your hands full every time.

Franklin Co keeps battling and playing like they do,  that number of championships will change soon enough.

I thought it was a great game with a great atmosphere. Both teams battled the full 4 quarters and left it al on the field.
The PT offense definitely went well with James going 27-31, 352 yards passing along with 176 rushing yards for a total of 528 yards. Also went 7 of 11 on 3rd down conversions, and 2 for 2 on fourth down conversions.
But the biggest difference in the game may have been PT coming up with some timely stops on defense. The Franklin offense was deceptively quick, hitting the edges with a head of steam resulting in positive yardage, but PT was able to make the stops at a few crucial points in the game.

This game would’ve been different if Franklin could’ve stayed healthy. Early in the year they lost their starting safety and center because of knee injuries, which forced a few players to start both ways. Later on, their nose guard, rb, and left guard went out all with different injuries requiring surgery.

I’m sure Franklin is going to stay in the mix with those top teams in 4a and eventually people will notice that and start respecting them as one of those teams.

Overall, it was a great game to watch and congratulations to PT.

And I saw the PT fans sit during the anthem and talk crap after the game about the refs trying to take it from them.  So PT fans are trash as well.

I challenge you to go to any Friday night at Campbell Field and see how Corbin fans actually behave when not playing PT. I was there and the Corbin fans were more aggressive than usually but it was because our kids were five hours from home and getting cussed at by adults as soon as they got off the bus and I watched it happen while doing a spirit line, PT student section cheered and chanted nastiness while Coach Salmons son was taken off the field with a broken collar bone in the 1st qtr, the rudeness and bad sportsmanship everywhere we looked and it wasn't remote to this game PT players and fans do it every time we play them at the middle school level too. I told a PT middle player after this years Championship game when leaving LCA "good game young man, yall have a great team!" and he just kept walking never looked up and mumbled "f*** you" and then when I got to the parking lot a bunch of PT players were getting chewed out by the Coach for leaving messes in the locker room and they were mouthing back at him, I think PT plays darn good football, just bad culture in my opinion.

that's what I had heard this week too. I thought once I heard that I was proud of the FC and Corbin kids for even keeping these games as close as they did. I had heard FC was missing a key player due to injury and the Corbin team was technically a sophomore heavy rebuild team after a big graduating class from last season and just a darn good QB that over performed everyone expectations. I had someone point out that a bunch of the PT players this season wore custom Axiom helmets too that are build specifically for that exact players head at $1000+ dollars a helmet and they had them in different colors too. there must be some major booster money flowing in the western part of the state apparently.

FC had a lot of key players out since years beginning, but a L is always an L... we had our chances.. Heard the qb'S dad is the money man!!

Hate to hear that about the injury's, FC is always a tough football team, much respect! that checks out about the money man too. the QB looked to have a videographer following him around when I watched the game in Paducah.

PT's offense is called by Corey Robinson, former Mr. Ky Football  at QB and standout at Troy University.

He set several records at Lone Oak and Troy alike, and had a few stints in the XFL.

That 91 TD passes in a season he had at Lone Oak may be one of the more untouchable records in all of sport. The guy in 2nd had 77 TD passes, and only 9 guys have gotten over 64 TDs since Corey set the record in 2007, and no one has come within 20 TDs of the record since he set it. We're talking nationally, not just in Kentucky.
