Perry County Central beats Martin County in the DJ Begley Classic. Perry County bounced back well after their loss to Belfry last night. They played good defense all game and limited Parker Watts. Thoughts?

I thought MC was the favorite in 15th?? PC has one of its worse team in awhile and pull out the win. Harlan County beat them by 40.
Any thought?

Martin County has arguably the best offense in the region. But, if you can catch them on an off night and limit second chance points as you can see they are very beatable. If they are hitting though it’s hard to match them. PCC came in with a good game plan and didn’t back down any. Hats off to them on a good win.

Nothing is making sense with this DJ Begley Classic. I don’t think anyone expects undefeated seasons by anyone but man, there’s been some wonky scores in this event.

BL was hitting shots and beat JC. Didn’t shoot it well against LC.
A good/great team finds a way to win despite shooting badly.
I’ve watched MC twice and it seems only 3 people shoot it.
Also who decided MC has the best offense in the Region?
What is that based on? They’ve played 3/4 games. Can’t base anything off a couple of games.

15th region about the weakest in the state. 14th just a little stronger in my opinion.

Martin led most of the first half but didn’t seem to really run any offense other than just jacking up 3s. I guess they live and die by them. If they are hitting I guess they could beat anyone and if not then you’ll have nights like this. If that’s the best the 15th region has then the 14th might not be the worst in the state
I don’t remember seeing the bacon kid before but he played pretty good for Perry down the stretch

MC don’t play any defense. They’re giving up almost 71 points per game. They just run down and jack up threes and long rebounds lead to other team getting easy looks. Occasionally Watts gets free for a dunk and that’s it.

MC has at least 3 football players who are key pieces on this team. Let’s give them some time to get in basketball shape then see where they’re at when that happens.

Last few weeks all you read on here is MC is the favorite and they have the best offense. I just asked what that based on. They lost to Barnett and Magoffin in the championship last year. Lost two players who has played in this region along time. Replaced them with a scorer who played for Tolsia in class A in West Virginia.
All I was asking was, what have they done up to this point to be crowned the best. We are 3/4 games into the season.
Also posters on here can’t have that argument at this moment when they lose and then all the other times they’re the greatest team we’ve ever seen in the 15th.
All I want is everyone to wait until at least January before we say who has the best offense or who is the favorite.

Of pieces that could Potentially be a really good team if they decide they have to sit down and guard and don't try to out score their opponents every night.
