Final from Pikeville. This one was never competitive. Pikeville was up 45-17 at halftime.

Wasn’t competitive AT ALL. Onkst with a dominant performance.

This score surprised me a bit. Watched bits and pieces and from what I saw it looked like Onkst and Walters couldn’t be stopped. Congrats Pikeville. Looks like they’re up there with Martin County for top Region contender.

I was wrong.

Spanked. Pikeville will only get better as season goes along. They still have a very good player injured and some young guys earning time that will provide depth. They look strong early.

It’s officially basketball season so i can start my rant, the 14th region is the bottom pit when it comes to basketball. They will not be competitive against any out of region top dog this year. Lots of mountain teams especially the 13th would love to be in the 14th this year.

Number 5 for pikeville is a real ball player. Kid is different, if I’m not mistaken he took 3 or 4 30 foot threes and sank them all. I’m pretty sure he finished with around 23-25 points in the end. Pikeville will be rolling if they can hit more shots down the stretch.

Pikeville has to be considered to be near the top of the Region.

Ian Oknst looked like a top 3 player in the region last night. Hes definetley up there with names like Parker Watts and Jaden Stewart who both had 40 bombs last night. Pikeville vs Martin County on 12/14 will tell you all you need to know about the panthers.

Ian Oknst is a DAWG! He’s a sleeper for Player Of The Year. Great win for Pikeville

The impressive game Ian Oknst had last season against Harlan County was an eye opener for what was to come this season.

I knew some of the prognosticators in that discussion thread that picked a close game were very wrong. Powell County beat Knott Central in Hindman last week by 15 and the Pirates lost 3 starters from last year’s team and had another reserve that would have been a starter this season transfer to GRC. Plus their best player is out for the season with an injury. So, I definitely didn’t expect Knott to lose to Powell, especially in Hindman.
