Final.

Congratulations to Belfry

Belfry comes out and takes control of the game in the second half. While the running game kept churning….Belfry did get their passing game back on track as well.

Survive and advance. That’s all you’re looking for at this point. Everybody is good…and everybody has a flaw or two. Comes down to who can manage their own flaws and who can expose the others.

It is what it is..but a Long drive awaits come next Friday. Morganfield is a HAUL….and once again….the dreaded RPI rears its head. Ridiculous that a team should have to drive 6.5 hours to play a playoff game. Regardless….PCN is tickled we’re still playing!!

Go Big Red!!

muncy has got to move to corner and woolum back to safety.
jarron johnson is going to be the toughest player to stop belfry has seen in years... 5'7 QB with 2000+ rushing yards on the season

Congrats to Belfry it was a very good game, mych closer than the score indicated. 21-17 after 3. Belfry just to big and strong. Officiating was terrible on both sides 3 calls hurt Russell and changed momentum of the game. Belfry player definitely looked down but rolled over and went 60 yards for a touchdown, 3rd down for Russell and the refs called for first down the chains had already moved then they changed their minds and called it 4th down. The pitch on belfry’s 3 td drive was definitely forwards. Don’t get me wrong Russell had their breaks also. It was just a bad game by the stripes. Russell will be just fine they play A LOT of freshman and sophomores, the running back # 28 is a freshman and Russell didn’t use the COVID year. Congrats to the Pirates go win it all.

Well….he’s got to be similar then to the Bell Co QB from 2019.      It’s gonna be a tall challenge….especially when u consider the drive just to get there.

agree that Woolum and Muncy need to flip

gonna be interesting.

The pitch was behind the line of scrimmage….thats a pass.

The side judge on the other side of the field started moving the chains, but the white cap had the spot clearly 1yard short.

When u see the film, neither Austin’s butt, knee, elbow ever hit the ground.

Very competitive game….but what I don’t see you questions is Maynard’s decision to not even try and get something at midfield with 50 second left before half??? That was a headscratcher….albeit as a Belfry fan….i was pleasantly surprised. Poor decision IMO

Watched film on him. Reminds me of the kid from Bell County last year. Union County is the best wrestling program in the state.

It will certainly be a hill to climb for the Pirates.

Belfry needs to borrow a page out of the playbook teams have used in them for years.

Load up the box, cut linemen, and dare Union to beat them making accurate throws under pressure.

This dude they are about to see is NASTY! Quick as a house cat but shockingly strong. Belfry has not been very good tackling in the secondary. With his speed, wiggle, and ability to break
contact Belfry will be in for a long night if they don’t figure out how to slow his
Momentum.

Johnson is the real deal. He is like the HS equivalent of Lynn Bowden.

Is there a former Belfry player he reminds you of? I have one in mind.

Russel looks like a middle school team but plays very disciplined glad to see them starting to compete again.

hate the lynn bowden comparison, though i considered it. i hate to say it but tyreek hill is the comparison id make but not the straight line speed but how shifty he is and how strong he runs.... but not nearly that kinda fast. he is constantly stopping and starting and gettin right back to 100 speed... scary scary runner

doesnt remind me of the bell kid at all either... this young man runs more like a guy youd see on sunday. only 5'7 or i bet hed be a big time prospect

i want to know how much crossover the wrestling n football team has.... id bet not much but i could be wrong

if we can’t stop a 5’7 QB running the ball we don’t deserve to win.

He reminds me of Dixon the year he had to play QB when Coleman was hurt.

All I can say is Belfry will have to tackle better than they have tackled in a game for the past four years or they lose.

Additionally, I don’t know what is broke with the option right now but if they don’t fix it by Friday the road ends here. The spacing, timing, and depth of the option is broke right now.

Between the trip to St Louis, the bad tackling, and the broken option… entering this week I think Belfry is down 21 points. Let’s see if they can make some of that up.

Believe you me…5’7 or 6’7…..JOHNSON is A PLAYER.   He will be without a doubt the most EXPLOSIVE player Belfry has seen all season.    That being said….they have lost two games….and a few teams have held them in check….Union only beat McLean Co 14-0.     IMO, Belfry will do what we do offensively.   A lot of teams run the Flex-Bone……but very very few run it like Belfry.   It will be interesting to see how Union defends the FB.

Defensively …..I agree with EKU 100%…..Belfry has to get better….and quick.   Better tackling.    They will need to drive thru the man against Union.  Johnson is dangerous in YAC plays.  DL will need to control gaps and keep the Union OL from getting to our LB’s.    Secondary HAS to play better…..as does our Kick coverage game.
