All I know is I’ve watched Raceland and I’ve seen Ashland practice and right now Ashland just looks a lot better.  I think Raceland will struggle with Ashland upfront and from a talent standpoint they just have better athletes with more experience.

My comments about Asslands athleticism is not my opinion on how good they are or where they rank on our schedule. I’ve seen a lot of teams over the years that had a ton of athletic kids that wasn’t worth a damn.  Still believe Assland will be the most athletic team we face this year but will they be able to put it all together for the first game of the season?? I’m hoping not. As far as Highlands ….they will be the best team we play but Assland was more athletic then Highlands was last year. Highland just had a ton of really good players and they were coached extremely well. Someone start the damn Assland -Raceland thread already

From what I’ve read in the Ohio forum it sounds like this is going to be a rebuilding year and they are expected to be down from their standards.

Revisiting this thread…a lot of talk was made about how the defense would recover from graduation as well as upfront. These boys in those groups have more than past my expectations. We are getting healthier and the early season gauntlet is paying off. I’m excited for the LCA game to see how far we have really come offensively. Been a growing season for sure both with the players and the staff. I’m super pleased and very proud of how we have stayed together. With everything that has went on, there could have been a lot of drama. But everyone has stayed the course and it’s starting to pay off. The program is a real program now, imo, and our best days are ahead of us.

I agree with you.  Raceland had all the reasons to treat this as a "rebuilding" year.  Instead, they pinned their ears back and battled.  They've gotten better each week, and I expect to see them in the final 4 in Class A with a good chance to make it back to Kroger.
