Seemed like every big play there was some sort of bullshittery that we couldn’t keep from responding to. 1 TD and antleast two big plays inside the 10 called back for holds. Unofficially the penalty count wasn’t bad. 10-6. Rams leading with 10 flags. But a big difference in yardage over 100 yards for Raceland and just over 30 for Paris. We have got to be able to keep our composure. Missed Stiltner and Coopers ability to stretch the defense in the rushing attack tonight, but Arnette had a good game running the ball and Marushi was super consistent as usual. Waller is doing a really good job spreading the ball around. Offense is still a work in progress but we are distributing the ball and even with injuries, have still managed to stay consistent since the NCC game.

Yet again, Paris has athletes all over the field. But they are so undeveloped it’s sad. Not a knock against the kids, bc they have some really talented kids. But they remind me, year in and year out, of a travel football team that’s thrown together in a week or so. Idk why they filled with the Sr QB. The Soph kid is much better. Kids crazy athletic and has a big arm. But god only knows where it will go. Like a lot of us from Ramland said last year…if that team was coached well, they could beat a lot of really good teams. But they were undisciplined and dropped like flies all night with what seemed to be fairly serious injuries or issues…then they would magically appear again fully recovered. I just hate to see a good group of athletes get the short end of the stick. Paris could do better.

I was glad the Hounds kept it respectable. Congrats to the Rams.

Its hard to really tell how the game is going when you listening to it on the radio but, it sounded like it was a fast start and then the game got kinda ugly.  Penalties this year no matter where they play has seemed to really cause problems for the Rams.  Sounded like the defense played good.  This bunch has been solid all year.

I agree the offense is still a work in progress.  Once Stiltner is back and I didn't realize Cooper was out, this should help there run game.  Sounded like Arnett filled in good at running back and Marushi always plays well.  Sounded like Waller threw the ball good in the first half but was not as successful in the second half.   Was Waller getting pressured a lot in the second half?   The passing game, I didn't here Rowsey or Ison much on catches.  Did they not have many receiving chances?  I heard Ison run the ball some out of the QB spot.  Rowsey and Ison are the two best receivers Raceland has in my opinion, I would think they should get 6 to 8 attempts a game minimum.   I know Raceland is a run heavy team, but it seems lately, they are trying to throw the ball more.  They both block well, have great hands, and both have speed.  I could be wrong, but it seems like they should be more involved in the passing game.  With those two and you have Arnett which is a good receiver and Marushi making some catches,  this team should be hard to stop on offense.  Especially when you get Cooper and Stiltner back who can run and catch as well.  I still believe this team is gonna surprise a lot of people and make it back to the carpet and they have a chance to win it all this year.  I don't see anyone in Class A who is just so dominate that they can't be beat.  Pikeville is still the team to beat because they are the champs, but I think this year you could see a new champ.  We will see!!!

We didn’t throw the ball as much in the second half and the game was just weird in general. Neither team could get consistency bc of officiating. We gotta clean up the PF crap though. It’s getting out of hand.

That makes sense then.  But, I would still be throwing to my best two outside play makers.  These guys should be leading this team in receiving.  Also, you are right, PF are game killers.  This will hurt the Rams down the road when they start playing better teams.  Right now, they can get away with it.  Any update on Cooper?  Why did he not play?  Anyone know the time frame on Stiltner?

I have been extremely suprised with how diverse the Raceland offense has looked the past 4 weeks. The passing game has been vastly improved since Waller has stepped into the starting QB role. Marushi has been excellent filling in for Stiltner, and Arnett has been playing great these past 4 games at receiver and some at RB.
Defense just looks solid all over, Lockwood and Bloss flying to the ball, and the defensive backs have been tackling well for the most part. The d-line has been crazy good. The Headlee kid is going to be a monster and Linden Sammons has been causing chaos.
If you asked me 4 weeks ago, I would have said Raceland loses in 3rd round of playoffs, or in state semi-final at best case scenario. Right now I could easily see them going back to Kroger Field. They are a totally different team than they were games 1-4. Lots of weapons at WR and once everyone comes back it makes for a really diverse offense and a physical, stingy defense.

Both starting running backs didn’t play last night either. Matter of fact we had a boat load of dudes not wearing pads last night.

Rowsey has missed about half the season due a hamstring I believe, and where Ison played QB the first 4 games thats pretty much why those guys receiving numbers are so low. Rowsey led the team in receptions against Fairview and I think Ison was tied for 2nd. Rowsey also led in receptions against Hazard and Ison was 2nd. They just have to get back to full speed and they will be fine.
Cooper hurt his hamstring I believe, and word on Stiltner last I heard was out until playoffs.

I agree, this team is playing good. I do think the first four games were tough for any team. I think they were just tying to figure things out. I think both QB's early had pros and cons. I think the team would have found its groove with either QB. Especically since the last four games, the defenses the Rams have faced have been terrible. With that being said, I think giving the nod to Waller, it has allowed him to settle in and he gets better each game. This also allowed the team to take one of its best athletes in Ison to go from one spot to now he can play multiple positions on the field. The team on offense is loaded with weapons. They should contiune to get better and better. I am anxious to see on they do in the last game of the year against LCA.

You are also right on the defense. They are exciting to watch. The front seven are really good. Lockwood and Bloss have been really good. McKee has been on lock down in the secondary. I think they can go back to Kroger and they have a chance to win it all.

Ok, that makes more sense.  Those guys are trying to get back in the swing.  Also, thanks for the injury update.  I hope those guys get back soon and stay healthy.
