I think Lawrence is better than Knox Central and East Carter.

Cal and Central play each other this weekend. If Belfry wins this week, I wonder if they will move into 2nd or will 1 and 2 remain the same?

I believe it will stay the way it is.

I agree, unless one of those teams gets blown out and looks bad. Seems like it should be a close game though.

Jet.....IMO....3A is just weak overall.  not saying there aren't good teams in the class...but I don't think there are any great teams.  And...we all know, typically the competition in Jefferson Co is much stiffer than the rest of the state.   When it comes to class ratings.....the RPI is the big black stain on a white wall.   Teams that play a more challenging schedule get dinged and beat up with the ridiculous algorithm being used.   It's almost criminal.

Even though the 3A class may be weak, the best teams of the class still have to beat the other best 3A teams to keep going through the playoffs. At least they don't have to play Boyle County....

I have to disagree with the Outlaw that there are no "great" teams in 3A. CAL is a great team. They beat Manual, a top tier 6A team, 35-10. They have a combination of talent, coaching, and precision that is difficult to deal with. They will roll through 3A with very little trouble.

You may be right.  I've not seen CAL in person this season.  Just highlights.    We'll see how it plays out.   Still think 3A is weak.

I know this doesn't really mean anything in the whole scheme of things, but: LCA 41 - CAL 34 (7 points).... LCA 40 - Pikeville 26 (14 points)..... Belfry 35 - Pikeville 21 (14 points).... Maybe Belfry is 7 points better than CAL.... Just a thought ....

It’s always hard to rank undefeated teams, but hart and hancock have played a whole lotta nobody. Whichever one, or if union can get it together, gets to play Cal or Central or if they get an east matchup round 4 with bell and belfry will be in for a nice surprise.

Thats why I categorize 3A as "good teams"..not great.....and overall top to bottom pretty weak.  And...that's not a knock on any team, program, etc etc.   Just seems to be the case.

Not having to worry about playing Boyle, the best team in the state, especially in the playoffs,  is a big plus.

CAL has won State the last two years in blowout wins in the state finals. They have dominated their class and hasn't really been close. The only team I see that could beat them in 3A are Central and possibly Belfrey. The rest of 3A probably a drop off past those 3. You will see some weaker teams make a run in the playoffs because they won't have to cross paths with CAL or Central.

No….Chief….you  were wrong….and I was right, just as I suspected.    Ive observed a lot of 3A football over my years.

Again, even if all 3A teams are weak, the competition should be pretty equal in the playoffs and give fans some fun games.

Yes.  I do think it will be competitive

Would have bet the farm that CAL was the team to beat in the west looks like they have some competition over there on that side! Congrats to central!

I still believe CAL will come out of that side but the East side may produce the best games and some unique matchups even as early as 2nd round and beyond these RPI rankings make thing different then the norm! Which i tend to enjoy
