Martin Co 41 Pike Co Central 18
#1
Final from game 1 at Belfry (Pike Co Bowl)

Cardinals took over in the second half and were just too much for the Hawks.
#2
Congrats Cards, I’m sure this was a good game to watch
#3
How did Martin do there damage?
#4
Martin Co air raid baby
#5
It was a all around game for the cards defense play good offense played great couldn’t been worst cards got to cut down unsportsmanlike penalties
#6
It was a complete slop fest from both teams—felt like watching a traveling circus. Penalty after penalty for nonsense, and the kids were clearly out of shape and undisciplined for the orange and blue. Pike Central couldn’t tackle, and it's obvious that nothing’s improved under the new coach, different face same results. It looked like the same old team with the same assistant coaches, and they desperately need to work on the fundamentals, especially pursuit and tackling. Martin County had better athletes and will only continue to improve. If they meet again, the score will be even more lopsided. I’d bet Pike Central couldn’t even beat Pikeville’s middle school team, let alone their JV squad. Like I said, Martin will definitely get better, and Pike Central might be lucky to win four games this season."

The score would have been much worse if MC didn’t have 2 or 3 TDs called back. Some of those flags were ridiculous.

no, it wasn’t.  The refs threw 7 hundred and sixty four flags.

Worst refs I believe I've ever seen. Wonder how the belfry and GRC game was with penaltys

That has to be the worst excuse I’ve ever heard. Whether it’s your first year or tenth, there’s no excuse for horrible conditioning, poor fundamentals in tackling, and repeated, sloppy penalties. These all point to a severe lack of discipline. I get that certain aspects might not be polished right away, but these are basic football principles that should be in place. They’re lucky Martin County didn’t put up 3-4 more scores on them. Keep making excuses, and you’ll keep getting the same results!

Why don't you apply for the head coaching position at Pike Central?  You seem to have all the answers.  If you are not interested, why don't you give the coach some time.  He may be the answer.  He may not be the answer, but he hasn't had much time to get things turned around.  This stuff takes time.

Oh, absolutely! I’ve been waiting my whole life for the chance to lead Pike Central to... well, *eventually* win something. I’m sure the current coach is just one more motivational speech away from unlocking the secret formula to success. Why rush when we can just keep riding this glorious wave of “maybe next time, or give it more time”!

How much time does someone need to figure out the basics and get in shape two or three years? Look, they've got some talented kids who can play, no doubt about that. But you'd expect to see SOME improvement over the last few seasons, and I haven't seen any at all.

No, I am not a coach.  I am not that crazy.  Coach's have to work extremely long hours for next to nothing in all kinds of weather, have the impossible task of making parents, players, fans, etc happy, have to not only be a coach but also be a guidance counselor, tutor, parent, etc  No, I am not a coach.

in my opinion I would give someone time to build something than to bash them. Just my point of view

Would I be a coach no not hardly. But I know football. And I know what they go though on a daily basis

I would let the coach handle the dislike issues just go old school on em

Haha, you must be on the coaching staff if you got butt hurt over some truthful comments!

I agree 100% with that statement, I was however referring to the “Big mouth”comment guy.

So let me ask, in your opinion, what exactly should we be seeing from them "so early on"?
in my opinion I would give someone time to build something than to bash them. Just my point of view

Would I be a coach no not hardly. But I know football. And I know what they go though on a daily basis

I would let the coach handle the dislike issues just go old school on em

Like I said, Martin will definitely get better, and Pike Central might be lucky to win four games this season."
well it is first year coach on second game with new system.

Rhino, I honestly don't know.  A lot would depend on what the state of Pike Central's program was when the current coach took over.  All I know is is that it is very early in the season and in most cases it takes a few seasons to turn things around.
