Final from KCC.
Estill advances to the regional championship on Friday against Powell/Hazard
Tremendous game by both teams. KCC led most of the game but Estill would battle back to tie it at 4-4. Estill would then plate 3 in the bottom of the 6th to take a 7-4 lead.
With two outs in the top of the 7th, bases juiced and Knott down to their last out, a 3-run double would tie the game at 8-8,. the very next batter would single driving in the go-ahead run and KCC would lead 8-7.
With two outs and a runner on 1st, Estill would tie the game on an RBI triple. Engineers would win it on a wild pitch.

Man what a dandy this one was. It's a shame a team had to lose. Hats off to both teams on a hard fought game. Knott is gonna be pretty good next several years.

Really good game. Caught the last 3 innings one team would throw a punch and here come a counter. Agreed both teams deserved to win. Congrats to EC

Something I don’t understand on Game Changer (Knotts). Estill took L Friend out after giving up the 4 runs in the 7th that gave Knott the lead, Chaney comes in. As it stood, if Estill would have lost then Friend would have been the one who took the loss, Estill won, on Knott GC game recap, they gave Friend the Win. Wouldn’t the win have gone to Chaney? Since he came in down 8-7?

A lot of action in this one. Estill had Knott out with 2 outs but Knott was able to tie it. And then on to win it on a wild pitch. Catcher had made some big stops a few pitches before that but the last one just got away.

It’s a weird rule. Sometimes that .1 inning doesn’t count as effective and it’s weird. Where Estill was home it follows like this.
(a) The Official Scorer shall credit as the winning pitcher that pitcher whose team assumes a lead while such pitcher is in the game, or during the inning on offense in which such pitcher is removed from the game, and does not relinquish such lead, unless (1) such pitcher is a starting pitcher and Rule 9.17(b) applies; or (2) Rule 9.17© applies.
c) The Official Scorer shall not credit as the winning pitcher a relief pitcher who is ineffective in a brief appearance, when at least one succeeding relief pitcher pitches effectively in helping his team maintain its lead. In such a case, the Official Scorer shall credit as the winning pitcher the succeeding relief pitcher who was most effective, in the judgment of the Official Scorer.
