The colonels need to bring their A game. I think they have the ability to win, but it’s going to be an uphill battle. The college kids are definitely favored

Beechwood one of the best teams in the state regardless of class.

Beechwood 35
Cov Cath 21
#4
I am going with the upset Covington at home
#5
Beechwood wins

Beechwood 35
Covington Catholic 14
#6
Give me Cov Cath in a close one.
Cov 21
Bw.  16
#7
I think Beechwood makes it back-to-back wins over Cov. Cath. 28-17
#8
I heard Beechwood QB is a freshman. Is this true? And starter is hurt?
#9
My upset pick of the week, Cov Cath comes out at home and wins it with a FG as time expires.
*I know this is a stretch

Cov Cath - 27
Beechwood - 24

Not sure but I’ll find out. That would mean that Berger will be saddled with leading the charge and the kid is more than capable. The cov cath defense is formidable against the rush though. Not exactly sure how they will fair against college aged players but I’m kinda feeling like the stars will align.

If the college aged kids want two in a row…..they better make this one count because next year is looking less likely for them….age advantage and all.

You seen hateful of beechwood that twice in this thread you mentioned college age kids I am pretty sure by the rules that were allowed by the state there noting wrong here correct?
Mutiple teams I imagine would have a college age kid on them

Should be a great game. Berger is the difference for me, Beechwood 28 - Cov Catholic 24.
#13
BW started their Freshman QB vs SK last week. I believe they said he will be the QB for 3-4 weeks.

I can see Cov Cath winning this game. This is the best two teams in NKY.

I’m sure there’s several schools with so called college age kids. Some are just better than others

Yeah I’m not a beechwood fan. Never have been despite having some very good friends that have graduated from there….including a couple currently working at the school. I simply do not understand the direction the school has chosen to go lately. It’s bizarre. Yes I completely object to their decision to allow kids to repeat a year of high school. It’s insanely stupid and completely pointless. It’s a shame what the school is becoming. Their mission is skewed.

If schools and parents allowed current high school students to repeat a year….they failed the kids. Who cares about how good they are at football?!?

I think we need to be careful here with the "College age kids" remarks. After all, at most of these schools, a good portion of this years senior class with graduate as college sophomores with the dual credit stuff now, and are currently taking college courses.

Just food for thought.

I used the term “college aged” for a reason. Pretty sure the kids earning college credit in high school are not the ones returning for an additional year of high school because they can’t give up the dream….or they think a d1 offer is going to magically appear.

Game day!
#19
Covington Catholic has played a much tougher schedule to this point. They could win this game.
#20
I’m thinking of making the trip to Park Hills to check this one out. Up to this point Beechwood hasn’t played a really good team and CovCath is definitely the more battle tested of the two teams. With this game being at home and CovCath looking to avenge their loss in Ft. Mitchell last season I’m giving the edge to the Colonels.

CovCath 28
Beechwood 24

Beechwood has the Berger kid. He is legit. The question is, can cov caths defense that seems to be effective limiting the run, stop Berger enough to force the college team to throw the ball with their freshman qb. I think they are anticipating almost 5,000 people will attend the game. That’s a lot to ask of a freshman. Cov cath very well may get beat, soundly, but I have a hunch cch shocks the world.

Covington Catholic is thumping Beechwood 31-14 with under 2 minutes to play.
