Lincoln has a pretty good defense, but not like Highlands. I will say Highlands 27-6.

Do you think Lincoln can hold Highlands to 27, have you seen them play? Have you seen Highlands D play?

Just kidding...
As for my first question, do you think Lincoln can keep Highlands to 27 or fewer points?

Lincoln is good against the run. That is the only reason I think Highlands only scores 27.

Just like a Highlands fan. Cocky and a way too over confident..... I hope Lincoln County beats them by 20.

The Blue Birds are way too strong for Lincoln County... I'll take Highlands by three touchdowns.

They are actually nice people. I have gotten to be pretty good friends with some of them. Don't judge all of them.

As you have coached against Highlands, you obviously have a pretty good perspective. I'm sure Lincoln has a good rush defense and that will limit Highlands ability to run the ball, but because Highlands runs the ball so well my guess is that you didn't get the opportunity to see Highlands passing game very much (don't know who you coach for and its none of my business). If Lincoln is having some success stopping Highlands running game, Highlands will pass the ball and Highlands definitely passes the ball well, they just haven't done it much because their run game has been so dominant. Thus Lincoln will need to be able to stop both the very good running and very good passing game of Highlands. If they can't do both, then I think Highlands will score more than 27. If they can stop both our running and passing game and also score against Highlands D (which is very fast) then Lincoln will have definitely earned the semi final win. I can assure you and the other folks on here, I've not heard anything but compliments about Lincoln from the Highlands coaches and players. Lots of respect being given. Good luck to both teams and good luck to your team next year if you are no longer playing and if you are, good luck to you this Friday.

I'm going to go with the Bluebirds in this one. They are soo tough this time of the season and they play for one thing each season...state titles. HHS by 2 TD's

I read an article last week that Letcher Co's goal this season was to play Highlands. They attained that goal. Highlands goal (every year) is to go 15-0 with the last victory coming in the pizza box.
It is hard to attain a goal that you do not set.

Highlands does everything well. I still predicted them to win by 3 TD's, which is a pretty good margin. They can throw, run, kick, punt, tackle, and block and that makes them a dang good football team. They might score more than 27 but that was just my prediction. To be honest with you, I have never seen Lincoln play. All I know is that the beat a good JC team that whipped Louisville Central pretty bad, and if I not mistaken Louisville Central gave Highlands all they wanted. I know the games are not played by scores of other games, but it gives a pretty good indicator of how good LC is. BTW I coached against you guys last game. It was me trying to figure out how in the world to score on such a tremendous defense!

Thanks for the compliments about Highlands. Letcher County had a nice solid squad, so you, the other coaches and the players are to commended. Really at the end of the day, it doesn't necessarily matter how many points we score. I'd be thrilled to death with a 3 td victory as Lincoln is a very good squad from what I've been told. How did you like playing at Highlands? While the visiting team is somewhat (understatement) crammed in, its is a pretty neat atmosphere to play a game. And don't take this the wrong way, but I'm glad you didn't do a better job figuring out how to score on us. Some folks think our pass defense is weak, but they'd be surprised to know that of the 4 defensive backs named to the coaches All N. Ky team, 2 of them were from Highlands. And that's quite a statement when you consider all the talent that is in N. Ky this year. In support of that last statement, I'd point out that there are 4 teams from our region playing in the semis (6A, 5A, 2A and 1A), which is pretty strong. Its not out of the whelm of possibility that if Highlands had not moved up from 3A to 5A and CovCath had not moved up from 4A to 5A, we could have 6 teams in the semis. Dixie Heights squad was actually pretty good (they would have been a great matchup with Letcher) and had more raw talent than any other team in the region including Highlands. CovCath had become a dang good team by the end of the year also, they just ran into the Highlands buzz saw the week before Letcher did.
By the way, what's the skinny on your qb? I read on another site that he's only a junior and has good size. Man, he looked good (well as good as anyone could look getting chased and hit on constantly). Do you have much coming back next year to support him? If so, I'd say Letcher will be a contender again next year and he'll get some scholly offers.

Highlands by as many as they want. Lincoln may have a great d but they haven't faced a team like this all year. Highlands is to powerful and would beat anyone from class 1a-5a handly and would probably be able to play with the big 3 and probably beat one or 2 of them.
