Final from the Expo.
This game was much closer than the final score. The Hornets kept this game close for 3 quarters, only trailing 39-38 going into the 4th quarter. Phelps would take a 41-39 lead, but Valley then went on a 22-3 run to blow the game open and that was that.
Phelps has nothing to hang their heads about, they played a great game and should be proud of their effort.
Valley moves on to face Lawrence County in the semi's on Saturday.

Phelps gave Shelby Valley everything they wanted. It was 42-42 and then there were 3 absolutely terrible calls in a row against Phelps. That made it 49-42. The hornets just didn’t have enough energy to make a comeback.
Cody Potter had a pretty lackluster effort imo but Worrix came up big with several 3 pointers.

Hornets played really well for 31/2 quarters. They did everything they were suppose to and I was pleasantly surprised of how well they played. Last 4 mins I think SV went on a 23-2 run and Phelps just ran out of gas. Outside of both Francis's no one else could do anything in the last 4 mins. SV pressure full court man caused Phelps to use all their energy. Worrix was the difference in this one. Hit outside shots and caused turnovers down the stretch. Potter and Robinson were unusually cold from the outside as well. Good effort from the Hornets they just didn't have enough left in the end.
