Martin County 27 Bath County 0
#1
The Cards score 27 unanswered in the second half and move to 4-1 on the season.

Congrats Cards!

Cards came out a little flat and over confident early in the game. But this was a real slobber knocker in Inez extremely hard hitting game. Cards couldn’t capitalize early on some good field position or this one could have been ugly. Defense looked really good most of the game asides from jumping offsides abt 10 times. Other than that they laid the wood great to see this team playing some good football again. Good luck to both teams the rest of the year. Talked to several fans from bath and they and their players were very respectful group of people. Good luck to both teams the rest of the season.

I will also add this was the first district win for Sheldon Clark in I believe 8 years.

Not surprised by this score. Martin County is much improved from recent years and Bath is way down. I think it will be interesting when Shelby Valley goes to Martin County on Oct 11

Congrats to the CARDS... New school, new attitude and the seniors realize it’s win or go to the house, there are no more next year for them.

These Angry Birds are working hard at the ROCK and it’s paying off, GO CARDS.....

Congrats to Martin County coaches and players. This group of young men have put in some hard work over the past couple of years on the field and in the weight room and now they are seeing the fruits of their labor.
Through 5 games in:
2019:
4-1 Record 174-72 (points scored/allowed)
2018:
2-3 Record 96-115
2017:
1-4 Record 56-166

Trust the process.

Bath looks to be falling apart. No offense, no defense, players fighting with each other, players arguing with coaches. Johnny poynter has officially lost this team

BC with two goose eggs the past two games. Gotta love that Johnny Poynter offense. I listen to part of the game and even the announcers were questioning the play calling. Good to see they are seeing what many have seen for a while.

I get it....but....sitting out district play at one point....being reclassed into 2A this season. IMO, you can’t compare the past 2-3 seasons with this season. Too many of the variables have changed. Just be happy with what y’all are doing THIS season.

0-0 at the half. Bath looked like a completely different team in the first half. Defense played well and offense moved the ball. These players don’t fight amongst each other. Seems like Coach Poynter has made you and Cajun upset in the past, you guys have it out for him.

27-0 against Martin county ( no disrespect to Martin county, the kids play hard but they’re an average team) offense obviously didn’t do anything and you give up 27 points to a team that maybe threw the ball 5 times the whole game. You obviously didn’t watch the same game everyone else did.

We also lost our starting running back who is a top rusher in the state 5 plays in, and we are still without Ethan Smith-Mills so we was missing several play makers out there.

Anyone can support a team that is winning - it takes no courage. But to stand behind a team to defend a team when it is down and really needs you, that takes a lot of courage." - Bart Starr
