University Heights gets the win after sleepwalking through the first Half.
Tandy finished with 31 (22 in the second half). McGowan with 17 and Hollowell with 11... UHA, one of the top free throw shooting teams in the state missed 12 free-throws. 9 in the first half alone...
University Heights goes for their 9th all time "All A" title this week in Richmond. They will face the winner of Bishop Brosart and paris on Thursday night at 9:30 and then the winner of the Newport and Kentucky Country Day game. UHA beat Newport by 26 in the Traditional Bank Classic in Lexington over Christmas break. If they play again I expect a closer game.
As a side note, it is rumored that KJ Crump could have played today for UHA but he was held out one more game to make sure he is fully healthy for Richmond. Without Crump UHA hasn't had quite the same firepower on offense. Their defense has been solid though.
For those who don't know, Crump is perhaps the fastest player in the entire state. As a freshman he finished in the top 5 of the 100 and 400 meter dashes at the state track meet. He's a bulldog on defense and can absolutely fly with the ball in his hands. He and Tandy makeup probably the best back-court in the state.
William Bryan has done a very good job filling in during Crump's absence with he ankle injury.
