Calloway County (1-4) travels to Hopkins County Central (3-3) for a 4A District 1 game. This most likely ends up the battle for the #4 seed with the loser being eliminated from playoff contention.

This game looks like an even matchup on paper. Both teams come into the week playing solid against teams of their own caliber. Calloway has played a slightly tougher schedule and has an overtime loss on the road. Hopkins Co Central has two extra wins to show for their efforts.

The Storm won the game 28-23 last year despite throwing 3 INTs. The Lakers took two of them for pick 6 TDs to keep them in the game. Both teams failed to move the ball on the ground which could be a factor going into this year's contest.

After going winless last year, Calloway County seems to be getting a tad bit better each week. Hopkins County Central returns all but 1 player from their 36 listed last year. I'm expecting this contest to be close.

I hear you MayfieldCardinal. It seems the Lakers offense is beginning to get a bit of an identity. If they can win the ground game, I really like their chances in this one. I think they have the offensive advantage while Hopkins Co Central has a slight advantage on defense. Would love to see them turn the program around.
