I can promise you that Casey fans can sympathize with you. In the 90âs they won 1 game in 5 years. It was one of the longest losing streaks in the nation at the time. Stonebrakerâs second season in 2000 they went above .500 for the first time in the programs 27 year history. They have only accomplsihed that 2 other times before Stonebrakerâs return in 2016.

I hate it for the kids too. Most people don't seem to realize that the teams that are not winning work just as hard as the teams that are.

Casey County is a great example of what hiring the right coach can do! The Rebels were seeing everybody’s homecoming for years, but Stonebreaker has built a solid program that is competitive with anyone in their class. Sometimes it just takes the right man for the job.

What Walter said is correct. I went over to Casey a few years back to watch Corbin play them & the atmosphere was completely different. Their coach has changed the culture over there.

Casey has improved so much the last few years itâs ridiculous. Just off what theyâve done to Bell the last two years shows they are up to a solid top 10 team in 3a

That is true, and of course with Bell having transitions from coach's who I don't think were of Bell standards. It was a combination of solid talent from Casey, build up from a revamped youth league. We'll still have a down year here and there, IMO, but I think other than maybe a couple of year stretch we'll still give Bell a good game (2 years I'm afraid we'll be beaten badly), and then I feel like our most talented groups are coming up. We do have a phenom in waiting, lol, or two, way way back in the youth leagues (like 6 to 7 years down the road). A great running back from a different state moved here a few years ago and his sons will be coming up. We are solid, but all you guys know that the good programs were built up over years. Stonebraker definitely puts a will to win in players. IMO he truly is one of the top coach's in the state. IMO, under the age of 45 he might be the best coach in state.

I know this is back, to back, to back posts, but I have nothing but RESPECT for Jackson county kids, and parents. I've saw the parent passion, from up high. I'll here some Jackson momma in the crowd, fighting with her support, trying to will her son on, urge him to do better. Those kids go to practices, I'm sure, at least 4 days a week, put in work, hard work. They don't let their program die. Rip/Spin 100% said it best, Casey fans 100% KNOW your pain, we have empathy, not just sympathy. We've been there, and may not be full "out of there". If Jackson sticks with it, gets the coaching in they need, and work, they'll definitely improve. I thought last year was a nice victory over McCreary Central. 100% the case of a talented team, with no heart, getting beat by a team that still had some heart, not as talented, and Jackson took McCreary to the woodshed. Personally I loved that!

The job stonebreaker has done there canât be put into words. A complete turn around. It takes not only a good coach, but a special selfless person who is a hard worker to do that. I can remember playing Casey co back in the day and the fans went nuts if they scored a TD on our Freshman. Now Stonebreaker has instilled a sense of pride and confidence in the program to the point where they come into games not only expecting to compete but to win! Guys like him will probably never win COY but I honestly believe they should. What he has done for that program and community is literally amazing. Jackson county is almost the same type of program Casey used to be. But whether they can replicate what Casey has done I donât know? It takes a lot of pieces to be placed in the right spot to do so. And as I stated earlier. Not just any head coach can show up and do it. I do hope they can turn it around. Thereâs some pretty good talent in those mountains and that could be their ticket out of that place, not meaning it in a bad way. I donât think Jackson will do it anytime soon though. From what Iâve heard from the area there is a lack of support which is sad. But in the mean time I look foward to see what stonebreaker does in the future, if he keeps building on their success or is this their peak. I hope itâs not the latter.
But either way CC rolls in this one!

Also, our defensive coordinator, coach Cross is a pretty good one. He coached your own coach Haddix. So that's saying a little something. Cross was at Western, winning that national title with Haddix, as a linebacker coach.

I hope that Jackson can see the success that Casey has achieved the last couple years. It has been a memorable run for the boys in Columbia blue. The community has now bought in and is showing some support.

Like many things, it's infectious. Staff have gotten on board, a lot. They want to be part of "the cool kid crowd", where before they would stay away from "failure". That is sad, and BS, IMO. When coach Marples was here, he worked hard too, and people wouldn't support the team, staff, etc.. It's all a crock of **** when teacher's will say they back their student athletes...but only if they're winnin...Then "I was always behind that kid"...Uh-huh...sure ya were. But that is one of the many things Stonebraker is good at, not only making players better, X's and O's, and instilling a winning attitude, he also coach's parents, and also is able to be very inclusive with his fellow staff and administration.

pj you and I agree on a lot of things but we may be on opposite sides on this one. I know kids who are not winning work hard, some work very hard but I know there are teams who work harder than others. Sometimes much harder. I have never seen a Jackson Co. practice or watched off season workouts so this statement has nothing to do with them or am I insinuating it does.
Also, sometimes teams work as hard as they can with logistical issues, parental support, school support, community support and amount of quality coaching greatly affecting how good they can be. It may be, with several challenges stacked against them, as good as it CAN be. But I do know that the amount of work and dedication being done is not equal between all schools.

Absolutely donât agree that bad teams work as hard as good teams not saying anything bad about anybody or their program

work smarter not harder
