#1
I was one of the many fortunate ones to witness this amazing game and let me say pikeville came to play.. Battile is pure clutch and defintley ready for a D1 program.. and let me say it now mark my words on it Justice is on his way to being the best coach in 15th region history "some already say hes up there for conversation as best player and I completely agree with them also".. 15 or 20 years from now you won't be talking about the bill mikes the johnny martins the tommy McKenzies the johnny ray turners. Justice was pads them all..Good luck Panthers in the elite 8 and so forth. Bring back another title the mountains can be proud of

Must have been a great one to surpass the 1998 semi-finals.

Little overboard with the thread title. Lol. Was a great game, but to label a first round game the greatest of all time is a bit much.

Speak for yourself I’ve been to the tournament and by far that was the best game I’ve watched

Idk if it is or not. I was there and I can say I’ve not seen a better game. Many people there today was still talking about it and saying the same. Some older folks that has been going for years and years made a similar statement. Just depends on the person.

Must of been a great game but the best game I’ve seen at the sweet 16 was at Freedom Hall was Ballard vs Clay co. Farmer vs Houston

The Paul Andrews shot from three quarters court in 80- or 82 for Laurel County was one of the best games if not the best game ever play in sweet 16. to win the title In front of 23,000. That was my first sweet 16 and I been going since.

How many games has anyone seen or heard about that had a buzzer beater 3 to send it to OT, 3 free throws with 8 seconds left to send it to the second OT. Then another 3 with under 10 seconds left to send it to a 3rd OT!?!? This game was LEGENDARY and they’ll be talking about it for a VERY long time!

Great game, but the best of all time I would have to question that??

If either team had done anything past the first round then maybe people would talk about it for a long time, but realistically this game will be forgotten about by most other than Pikeville/Hardin fans.

Sorry, no offense to either team, but this game isn't even in the same realm as the Henry Clay-Carlisle Co. triple OT state championship game as greatest game ever, with a putback at the buzzer to win it for HC, in 1983, and even this one is debatable as greatest game ever. This game definitely ranks in the top 10, but certainly not number 1.

From a Pikeville fan, it is definitely top 3 for me. And I would say a Top 5-10 overall. Rowan/Christian County probably tops the list for me. But as a Panther fan, there was nothing like that feeling. Pure joy.

Congratulations to Pikeville on a great run. Yes this was a great moment for Pikeville Basketball, at the same time it was a awful moment for John Hardin, they gave the game away.
