KINGSPORT, Tenn. – Top-seeded Union College led from wire-to-wire in dispatching No. 8 seed Tennessee Wesleyan 83-71 in the quarterfinals of the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament on Thursday.

The tournament is being held at the MeadowView Marriott Conference Resort & Convention Center in Kingsport, Tenn.

With the win, Union improves to 21-7 overall, while Tennessee Wesleyan ends the year at 13-16.

Bolstered by a pair of 3s from Dominique Lindsey (SR/Tyrone, Ga.), Union opened the game on a 12-0 run and never looked back. Union pushed the margin to 32-15 following a K.J. Duronslet (JR/Sacramento, Calif.) bucket with 7:48 to go in the half en route to a 44-29 cushion.

Union led by as much as 26 in the second before taking its foot off the gas in coasting to the 83-71 final.

Five players finished in double figures with Duronslet's 16 leading the way. Austin Cummins (SO/Lawrenceburg, Ky.) added 15 points, while Stuart Jackson (SR/Louisville, Ky.) poured in 12. Lindsey and Lance Blakely (JR/Lexington, Ky.) rounded things out with 11 points apiece.

Johnson Decembre paced Tennessee Wesleyan with 18 points with Kenny Dean following with 17. Jalen Oliver and Jordan Hall chipped in 13 and 11, respectively.

Up Next

Union now faces fifth-seeded Montreat (N.C.) in the semifinal round. The Cavaliers knocked off No. 4 seed Reinhardt (Ga.) 76-58. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
