Best Coaching Staff This Year in Eastern Kentucky
#1
Which team has the best coaching staff this year?
#2
JCHS must have a pretty good staff. They were able to go unbeaten in not only Varsity regular season but also frosh and JV as well.
#3
I would have to say JCHS for what they accomplished this year, Pikeville,Belfry,Hazard, and Bell County are other staff's that should be mentioned
#4
JCHS, Belfry, Sheldon Clark

I agree

I think Boyd Co. has as good a coaching staff as you will find anywhere. Top to bottom they all have great credentials, records and experience. Best thing about them is they are all fairly young. I could be wrong but I don't think they have a football coach on staff that is 40 or more years old. Every one of them have lived football their entire lives.

sc jc and belfry

Looks good to me, I agree with ya.

All staffs are pretty good. Can image this going this far without Russell's staff being mention. Has to be one of the best staffs.
#10
Belfry or JCHS

Hazard, Pikeville, and JC really should be mentioned for their efforts this season. I jus want to say that Hazard's JV team went undefeated last season as well, and our JV was scheduled to play JC's JV who was undefeated....but sumhow got cancelled. That wouldve been one heck of a jv game IMO.
#12
Thats because Hazard's JV was basically most of Hazard's Varsity.
#13
I think Haywoods staff at Belfry.
Breathiit Co.'s bunch
Larkey and the Boys at Rock.
Dudley's staff is top notch.
I think Donahue and Perry at Harlan done a great job. Perry's moved on now.
And I think the Best bunch is at Russell. Mcglone is getting it done, thats a fact. I can't believe they don't hit in practice.

I agree, this just shows how talented and fierce the bulldogs will be when these sophmores and freshmen are seniors and juniors respectively. A bright future for this young football team.

I agree...what are you gonna do when you only have 40 players total. All of our sophomores started, and 3/4 of the freshman did....we only had 8 JRs and 11 SRs and most didnt start last season...lol

This one is almost too easy. Haywood and the staff at Belfry a probably tied for the best in the moutains with Johnson Centrals staff

I maybe somewhat partial on this but I will have to go with Belfry. The coaching staff there encourages the players to be exceptional men both on and off the field. They teach the playbook of football and the playbook of life. They are excellent role models for the youth in the area.

coach haywood @ belfry, C.macnamee @ pike central,and JTA @ paintsville.

As a whole I feel JC has the best around. Matney brings the experience as the head coach, while the supporting cast comes from a variety of different backgrounds and the kids absolutley love them. Every coach on this staff is a proven winner, many at different levels and in different sports other than football and thats why I feel JC has the best overall staff in East KY.

I think JC also has probably the best staff in the mountains. Like you said it doesn't matter what sport they excelled in but if they can relate to the players then you are going to get positive results. Look at Charlie Weis, never played a down of college ball and arguably one of the brightest offensive minds in the NFL when he was with New England.

johnson central has one of the top coaching teams because of the various accomplishments they have; and the number of student athletes they get signed every year.

Very well stated. I think that sometimes teaching football to players needs to become secondary to preparing every player for the real world.

Belfry, mostly because there state contenders year in and year out.

I agree, no one has a track record like Belfry.

I give props to Prestonsburg as well, although I don't think they make some of the right decisions, they always treat their kids the best and provide them with the best equipment.
