Now you know why I complain about free phones all the time. I've seen it all go down, they set up and hand them to anybody who walks up. Many of the free phone recipients actually have more than one phone, and the program is a cash cow for all manner of unscrupulous gamers in both government and banking.
The cost of the program is shared between government payouts (tax dollars) and a surcharge added to the monthly bills of every legitimate consumer of the cell phone industry. Which just means paying customers actually pay three times. Once to the cell provider, once to Uncle Sam. And once for ourselves, don't ever think the Dems don't know all about it.

Contained in the article:
The report, requested by Sen. Claire McCaskill, Missouri Democrat, also says the program has stashed some $9 billion in assets in private bank accounts rather than with the federal treasury, further increasing risks and depriving taxpayers of the full benefit of that money.

I think this is just a case of McCaskill trying to appear the honest politician. The AG of this administration is for real and heads are rolling. I don't accept that the findings of this report are in any way news to her.
I guarantee you the innards of all government programs are just as putrid, especially ObamaCare. And further, if the taxpayer had any idea the true level of graft and wasted money involved they'd go into orbit. DJT has his work cut out for him but I believe he is the man for the job.

I fear that the amount of corruption omitted under Obama like the obamaphone deal will be staggering when it's all found.
I've never understood the obamaphone deal. This is not a socialist country and that is a simple redistribution of wealth.
Whoever's idea it was to stash money in private accounts should be prosecuted immediately.
It's time politicians understand that tax money is no longer something that isn't audited at every corner.
EVERY DIME OF TAX MONEY SHOULD BE ACCOUNTED FOR

Every dime of taxpayer money won't be accounted for, but to whatever extent taxpayer dollars are accounted for, will be through the efforts of this Administration. Nobody else up on the Hill really gives two hoots one way or the other, as thousands of fraudulent enterprises and system gaming entrepreneurs and friends of those in power are getting fabulously wealthy.
But what is redistribution of wealth anyway? It's a government backed scheme to fleece the wealth of a nation really. The have nots (because they work not) are being handed everything from food and housing to healthcare and cell phones by those in government in a votes for goodies scheme. In this way those with social justice aims can fundamentally transform the face of America, as Obama put it. Working America has been duped into supporting Dems, supposing them to be pro labor. Everybody else is just looking for something from government. The slothful are looking for free stuff, and the special interests are looking for favors. And brother have the Dems been for sale.
If the awakening as seen in the rust belt states last election continues to manifest itself in the minds of the working middle class, they will see the Democrats for what they really are. Dems have played the middle class for fools for decades now. And the midterms of 2018 will see more of them swept out of office.
