JC came out flat to open up the game but dominated the 2nd half. They started attacking the basket and Pville got in foul trouble. JC's only Sr. Brianna Ritz led JC with 21 pts and Freshmen Ashley Young followed with 15. Great job girls!

I've already heard several times that the refs controlled the outcome of this game and I can't believe it. Yes JC shot way more freethrows than Pville but JC's defense was awesome tonight. Pville turned the ball over so many times and when JC did foul it was not a shooting foul because no one on Pville's team would attack the basket. In other news both coaches got T's tonight. Also JC totally dominated the JV game. I think the score was 35-11, I can't really remember, it could have been worse but the coaches started subbing pretty early in the 2nd half.

But to say that JC dominated the second half and played great D, is misleading...it helps your D a lot when you are not going to get called for fouls.
Second half, Paintsville shot 47% from the field, JC shot 33%. That is anything but domination. Baldwin's T was in the third,a 4 point game and after the 6th straight Paintsville foul to JC's zero. Baldwin didn't say anything, just looked at the ref and immitaded blowing a whistle. This helped JC to a 10 point lead befor Paintsville ever got the ball back. JC's T came with about 3 minutes to go and JC still with the 10 point lead and Wireman argued every call against JC the entire night. But the ref's made up for the T as after Carroll hit the FTs, PHS was called for another foul.
JC shot 28 of their 36 FTs in that dominating second half.
I am sorry if you can't believe it, but I cannot not believe that the refs made sure that JC was going to win.

It's all in good fun... I guess we agree to disagree. IMO though JC just attacked the basket more often that Pville. I agree Wireman argued every call but then again if I were the coach so would I. I think if Pville would have given Welch the ball in the post more they might have opened up the outside a little more too, Lorin didn't have a single point and I can't remember her even getting the ball! Hopefully we will be able to settle this in the district tourney! I think Pville has to flip a coin with Lawrence Co. to see who gets the 3 and 4 seeds. Am I correct?

Lorin didn't even take a shot I don't believe, but then again great D was put on her and I don't remember her even have position more than a couple of times. IMO It seemed as if all of JC's players played very well on D and limited all of PHS girls to few good looks at the basket. The reason IMO that Kendra looked as if she was the only one taking shots, is because 90% of the time she created her shot and was the only Tiger able to do so. It looked as if JC's gameplan was to shut everyone else down and play as good of D against Kendra as they could. It seemed to work, but it's just my oppinion that if JC had picked up a few more fouls that sent the Tigers to the line that the outcome could have been different!
take a look at the Tech fouls.....JC up 4, Ritz goes baseline and knocks down the shot but draws minimal contact and goes to the line, PHS gets the "T" and she makes 2-3 FTs, they get the ball back and score another bucket. 6 straight points, and PHS could get no closer the rest of the night. Then...PHS, down 10 points late, on a 3 on 2 fastbreak, JC gets the "T", stops the fastbreak, PHS makes 2 FT's cuts the lead to 8, but as soon as they get the ball back, get called for a foul, thus, putting an end to any run.
PHS played pretty good D as well, limiting JC to 33% from the field.
All is well, and we will take what ever road we have to travel in Districts!!!
Congrats Lady Eagles!

JC didn't have to attack the basket with the number of fouls called in the second half. Every time they were fouled they went to the line for the bonus and double bonus and everything before that they called a shooting foul. Not saying that the Tigers didn't commit any fouls, but, man it sure was lopsided in the second half and when the Tigers started to make a run at it in the fourth the whistle put a quick halt to that. Would like to say also that Ashley Young got her break this year and is taking full advantage of it. She is playing really good ball.

Prediction Paintsville will win the district title... I know you all think I'm crazy. But remember its at Paintsville and its post season, anything can happen

Could happen, like you said it's post-season and you can throw past games out the door...I will say this though, if they get the 3 seed it would be easier on them than if they got the 4 seed. We'll see what happens!
