Like I said... if I had to take one of them for four years I'm taking Cam.
He's a special player who will graduate from one of the greatest academic institutions in the nation because of his basketball talent.
But as for the bolded... Did you guys even follow basketball beyond the last 5 or 6 years? Cam's dad coached at Belfry and Pikeville College since before Letcher Central was even a school.

The way letcher folk gripe about letting Cam leave,, just assumed from there originally as in growing up.

Still not sure what Dore is going on about.. Butthurt I assume? Ben was the better athlete,, but Cam has had the better career.. I'll take better career over better athlete every time.. Plus Cam will actually finish college,, Vanderbilt at that.. Ben had it all,, pissed it away..

You all can argue all you want but who is still playing and who is not. No comparison Cameron is all around better. That may be my opinion but it is the truth.

Zaga I still stand corrected.. You made me question my self,, lol.. Letcher fired Raymond.. So that's where I got the letcher thing.

It's all good, buddy
Raymond is a heck of a coach... took Belfry to the Sweet 16 a few times.
It's no coincidence that Cam is as good as he is.
I think Cam's accomplishments speak for themselves and so do Ben's.
Only the greatest players get to call themselves Mr. Basketball and only the greatest players are considered good enough to suit up for Oak Hill.
Ben was an all around athlete and was ruthless on the basketball court.
Cam is an ELITE shooter, scorer and he just goes out and wins games.
IMO anyone that says "Ben is better than Cam" or "Cam is better than Ben" is just proud of their school or a real fan of either one. They're both great players and you honestly can't make a solid case that anyone that has ever played in the 14th is head and shoulders better than either one of them.

Yea I never was comparing them in who was the better player. I just said overall,, Cam has had the better career.. That was all I was saying. .

Saying one is better than the other is fine, it's just opinion! But to degrade a young man that has worked as hard as Camron Justice like dore20 did is just shameful! Its almost like the idiot that said Chris Kyle American Sniper was a coward!

It's hard to talk about a discussion that holds good points for both, but Mr. Basketball trumps them all. I know Ben didn't stay to have the opportunity to win it but at the same time it was his decision to leave so we'll never know if he could have or would have won. High School career Justice easily had the best career

Could Ben really played at Oak Hill Academy? Quality PT? Very doubtful. May be why he got in trouble and left. Did he have any D1 offerS other than to Tulane?

I don't even think Ben Bowling was the best player to ever play at PCC, I would have to give that to Robert Paul or Deron Amis.

He averaged 20 points and a near-triple-double for a prep school that was top-20 in the nation.
I don't think playing time at Oak Hill would have been that much of a stretch from that.
To think that Ben got in trouble because he wouldn't get playing time is ridiculous.
Shawn Finney was the assistant at Kentucky in charge of Ben's recruitment. Finney took the head coach job at Tulane and told Ben that if he followed him to Tulane he would be the star there versus a role player at Kentucky.

From what I gather... the majority of the people making this argument really didn't even watch Ben Bowling play that much or they wouldn't be arguing as adamantly as they are.
I was only in middle school but I can still remember him pulling up for a 35-footer to beat Hazard at the buzzer and there's about 10 dunks that are burned in my brain.

I sat in my truck one day across from the Dust Bowl courts in town and watched Ben play when he was 19 years old. He was guarded by one of the Osborne twins whom was a Sophomore at Alice Lloyd. Ben could not even get a shot off on them. That's when I was like, can he really play division 1 basketball? Don't get me wrong, the Osborne boys are like 6'7 but play guard. (Which is common in Division 1 basketball) Ben didn't look so athletic against those college boys that day. Small College boys may I add. Yeah I know its just the dust bowl and I am not putting Ben down. He could of just been having a bad day or something. Could Ben played 2 guard at Vanderbilt back in the day? I don't think so. I don't think he was anywhere near as skilled as Cameron Justice. Cameron Justice will get PT at Vandy as a Freshman. Kids been around the block the past 4 years especially playing in the EYBL. Im not sure Ben was any better than Daniel Combs. Both shot about 30 shots a game and should of averaged 20 points a game or better like they did. Theres guys on almost every team in KY that average around 20 a game. Not really a big feat to average 20 ppg in high school around here.
