We pride ourselves at BGR as a place where people can come and talk about sports and other topics under a veil of anonymity. It's part of what makes this place great.

A lot of us know each other and associate with other users outside of this site.
So it's safe to say that we all know a few users on a first-name basis...
BUT we need to keep that info to ourselves.

Are you friends with a user on facebook? That's great! But don't call them by name on here.
Do you know where another user works? Awesome. Keep that to yourself.

65 years "young" you mean? :Thumbs: I went to Topix 1 or 2 times about 8 years ago to defend some nasty rumors circulating around a church being built of all things. Never went back.

What Lilly describes as being "thin-skinned," I call that not having time to filter through all the stupidity. A good fix for part of this issue would be to force the private message issue if it's directed toward a single poster.

Good natured humor is funny at first, but gets old. You have 18 posts. It's obvious you're a rookie and didn't know BGR at its best. Feel free to PM me for statements directed to me specifically. It clutters up the threads for others.

BGR would survive if any member chose to leave. Point is BGR is a forum to provide members with sports and current events information, and allow communication amongst members. I don't mind smack talk, trolling, or intense debates. However over the last several months BGR has been filled with the nonsense most commonly associated with Topix. Don't worry about responding to this, I won't see it...

First, There is nothing in this world worth "whining" about. Only about 1 out of every 10 posters have informed information, so I don't take the majority of posts serious. I simply stated that BGR has simply moved towards more of a community message board format such as Topix rather than the sports forum in which it started out. And for what it's worth only posters that can put together a valid argument have ever gotten a rise out of me. I thoroughly enjoy heated debates with posters such as Demarcus, Gut, EkuAlum, or the thousand other Belfry fans. Some of these posters or should I say posers may get a response, but that can hardly be considered a "rise".
