Match the Coach to the Resume!!
#1
I picked some of the better known Coaches across the state and took a 6 year average from the 2009 season on. See if you can match the name with the Resume.

#1 69% wins 5 district Championship and 4 region runner-up

#2 70% 4 district champ, 2 runner-up, 3 regional runner-up

#3 62% 1 district champ, 1 district runner-up and 1 regional runner-up

#4 61% 1 district champ, 2 district runner-up and 2 regional runner-up

#5 75% 2 district champ, 4 district runner-up and 4 regional runner-up

#6 68% 4 district champ, 1 district runner-up, 2 regional runner-up and region championship

#7 80% 5 district champ, 1 district runner-up, 4 regional Champ, 1 regional runner-up and 1 state championship, 3 state runner-up

Is #7 Philip Haywood?

^^^ not sure... the runner-up suggests it is but I can only remember one year they did not win the Region
#4
Blind stabs without using KHSAA

I am going to say Wayne Mills at #2

Matney at #1 although the win percentage seems low

Tom Larkey at #6
#5
7 not Haywood if the info is correct.

Off topic some, but has there been another coach win a region in one class, then the next year win one in another class with a different team like TJ Maynard has done with Raceland, then Russell? We might as well add in the same county..lol
#9
Good question... the only one that comes to mind would be Dudley Hilton but I am thinking he took time off before taking the Bourbon job.
#10
Sorry should have been 5 region titles for Coach Haywood. I knew 5 off the top of my head can't belive I hit 4. Sorry guys. It has been a really great run for Coach Haywood and his staff. Coach Haywood is legend and does things the right way.

That is the only 1 correct so far.
#11
#5 is Coach Mills
#6 is Coach Larkey.
#12
7 Dixon from Hazard?
#13
I didn't read all the posts, sorry again. EKU had Larkey at #6 which is right.

5 is Mills
6 Larkey
7 is of course Haywood

I find it funny that Mills and Larkey are on the rumor boards. 90% of the schools in KY would love to have either 1. It just shows how stupid some people are.

^^^^
You should know the whole story before calling people stupid. But carry on.

TJ is a great coach. I am really lookig foward to the Rail Cities Bowl starting up again. Both Raceland and Russell will be 2 of the most consistently competitive small teams in their classes over the next 5, maybe even 10 years. Both teams have alot of tallet i the feeder system and in the JFL as well.

I'm not sure what the JFL looks like today, but I remember it being an absolute model for how to run a succesful little league feeder program. Has it grown any or has it went downhill in the past twenty years or so?
